A friend of mine, Andy Samberg, joins the cast of SNL this season

Keep an eye out for him, season starts this Saturday.

He and a couple other friends shot a pilot for Fox that didn't get picked up, but they're funny as hell. Their comedic stylings can be seen on their website: http://www.thelonelyisland.com/

And the pilot for fox that didn't get picked up: Awesometown

Damnit, I clicked the Awesometown link and suffered through the Joe Black attempt at being funny and then the damn Quicktime locks up.

Jack Black. I haven't had a problem with the quicktime, but really you won't find any of it funny anyway, snout. Our tastes are just about polar opposites.

If anyone caught the first episode of SNL saturday, he was on the weekend update with the other new guy doing an "impression off."

You don't know for sure. I will try it again later. Are they allowed to make contributions or are they subject to the SNL writers?

All performers on SNL make contributions to the script/show. I've seen him do the bit he did on saturday in his stand-up. Plus, the other two guys involved in Awesometown and the other bits on the website were hired by SNL as writers, so they'll stay a comedy team of sorts.

I will give the standed hermaphrodite martian and the earth dude skit a 7/10.

But some of the stuff was worse than stuff I have seen on public access shows.

Hopefully SNL won't suck as much as it has been for quite some time.

No offense, but that sucked. I didn't even smile, let alone laugh.

I don't have Quicktime so I couldn't view the other stuff.

My father's friend's son Joe Kelly is a new writer for SNL. Can't evaluate his material but what I have seen recently of SNL it still sucks.

Grats on having your friend get that gig!

However, I'm starting to miss all the original casts of both SNL and MadTV. I turned on a NEW MadTV yesterday and... and... I knew 4/16 people! WTF!

Why would I take offense? I think it's funny, I'm sure plenty of people share your sentiment.

Anyone that's not familiar with a lot of rap lyrics probably won't find it very funny.

That was on SNL? If I saw that I might not think SNL Sucks complete ass anymore. That was ****ing hillarious I thought, but you definetly need to know some rap lyrics to get the jokes. You can give your boy some mad props on my behalf.
