Report Says Terrorists Exploit Canada’s Immigration System

Jan. 14 — International terrorist groups are exploiting Canada’s immigration system, using the country as a safe haven and a base to raise money for activities abroad, according to a confidential report by the country’s intelligence service.

“Canada’s immigration system, because it is both open and accessible, is vulnerable to exploitation and abuse,” says the Canadian Security Intelligence Service report, which was written in July 1999 and obtained by ABCNEWS.com via a freedom of information request. “This is of chief concern for Canada’s national security.”

Among the more than 50 terrorist groups believed to be operating in Canada are the Algerian Armed Islamic Group, the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, the Tamil Tigers, Sikh extremists, the Kurdistan Workers Party, Hezbollah and extremist Irish groups, according to the report.

The Armed Islamic Group, known by its French initials GIA, has been linked to Ahmed Ressam, who was arrested Dec. 14 while trying to enter Washington state from Canada because he was allegedly carrying bomb-making materials. Ressam has been linked to Canadian Lucia Garofalo, who was arrested five days later while trying to cross the border into Vermont. She faces immigration charges.

Actually it is reported. But does anyone do anything about it? In my humble opinion...NO!

It seems to me that would be a great platform for the Alliance Party, or even the weak Conservatives. Certainly enough Canadians now realize the insanity of this type of liberal policy, don't they?

Yeah, I suppose one only need look at the United States to see what havoc a screwed-up & flawed immigration policy can wreak. Hell, the 9/11 terrorists trained there!

Indeed. That is what the liberal open borders policy got us despite many clammoring against it.
