George Harrison's last Album To Be Realeased In November

Word just came that George Harrison's last album called Brainstorm will be relased on November 19,just short of the frist anniversary of his death.

The album will be creditied to three producers, two of them are Jeff Lynne and George's son Dahani.

There will be 11 originals and one cover,a lot of the album [including the titile track]will be about George's battle with brain cancer.

George Harrison's last recording has already been relased,it's "A Horse To Water",off the various artists relase called Jool's Hooland's Big Band [Jools is from the 80's group Squeeze],the song was recorded two moths before his death.

That is a reminder of George's difficult time, and his tough and tragic death. I look forward to see what the music sounds like.

Speaking of vintage music, I saw the Monkees last night at the Norwalk Oyster Festival. Mickey and Davey along with a "professional" band. They did easy listening versions of the songs. They had a good time and there were quite a few people in the audience. Two years ago, I saw Paul Rogers of Bad Co. do the same venue. Quite a difference in that Paul and his Bad Co. replacement band was pretty intense and quite good.

Last night, Mickey actually played drums on a few numbers. Generally Mickey and Davey stood there with acoustic guitars and sang while the "pro" band did everything else.

Regarding releasing of George's album, I heard yesterday that Steve Miller is so fed up with record companies he is not dealing with them anymore at all. I am sure you remember him. I liked his older psychedelic stuff more than his late 70's and beyond material. But that song Jungle Love from Book of Dreams is an all time great piece of work.
