Everybody Else Is Talking About Kramer
Since everyone else is talking about it,why not we?
Actor Michael Richards was giving a standup comedy act [something he had no real previous experience doing] in L.A. when two black men mildly heckled his [in almost everyone's view] unfunny act. Anyone who is experienced in standup comedy will tell you that if you can't handle a heckler then you should get off the stage,a truly experienced comedian [say Jerry Seinfeld] could even make the heckler work to the comedian's advantage [a comedy club isn't church ,what these two guys said was very mild compaired to what happens in most comedy clubs]. Instead of even trying to do that Richards became hysterical and started refering to the hecklers as the "n" word repeatedly,even worse he gave them unfunny racial insults like "When the sun comes up tomorrow I'll still be rich and you'll still be a n----r". Needless to say some of this got on on the itnernet [www.TMZ.com which broke the story about meMel l Gibson's bigoted rant and in fact TMZ now says that Richards made anti-Semitic remarks at another show that made Mel Gibosn's DUI remarks sound enlightened by compairison]. On Monday Richards appeared on David Letterman's show and gave his "I'm not a racist" apology and at first I bought it,but then reports of him saying even worse has come out and I have to shake my head and ask myself how [at the very,very least ] can this guy be so stupid? Especially when season 7 of Seinfeld hits the DVD stores this week,this could not only hurt his income but the income of the other three cast members who have nothing to do with this.

But if Chris Rock says ****** it's ok right? I'm sure just meant it as a term of endearment for his homies in the crowd. Edit: And maybe they DESERVED to be called ******s? I don't know, I wasn't there, but it's possible.

Ive heard they were calling out racist comments to him, but you dont see that on any clips - not that it is ok, and theres no word I loathe more than the N Bomb- he should have just been funny and turned it on them (in a non-racist way). Hes ruined his career over this few minutes.

Gloria Allred is on the scence now so everything will be made okay because she is such a dedicated public servant who is only interested in justice and never tries to self-promote.

I had also heard that they were making comments to him when they were heckling like "white cracker" or something similar, but yeah he really screwed up with this.

Of course, nobody is calling for their careers to be ruined or that they 'apologize' for racist name calling, since they probably work at car washes or pimping their kids off on some street corner, and so utterly classless as to be beyond criticism.

**** those ******s. Nothing has made me more pist off and racist then the backlash Richards has recieved. I honestly think that anyone open minded about the idea of equality is going to be extremely annoyed that the situation has been presented as it has: That white people are closet racist and are forever to be kind to black people.
Look back in my posts and you'll see that I'm about as anti-racist as they come, but this unfortunately has made me all the more astoundingly pissed off for the treatment that Richards has and will continue recieve due to this situation. Black people need to ****ing suck it up and get their shit together, and stop hiding behind this bullshit that the white man is ruining everything for them.
