Iceland resumes commercial whaling of endangered species - How You Can Help
Hi,
This has been in the news a fair bit recently. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6074230.stm There is a pledge you can take online, to visit Iceland one day if they agree to stop whaling again. It is an effective way of showing the Icelandic government that eco-tourism would be far more lucrative than commercial whaling - the organizers of the pledge are communicating to the government how many missed millions of dollars are represented by those of us who add our names to the pledge. I would love to go to Iceland so taking the pledge was a no-brainer for me. It takes 2 minutes to do. This means a lot to me: I thank those of you who take the time to do this! Yeah I'm a member of greenpeace too - but somehow I missed this.
Oh well, it's done now. I've always wanted to go to Iceland anyway - it looks like an interesting place. Plus, having been whale-watching once before I have made it my ambition to do it many times more! Mark
