Bush is getting ready to hit Iran big time!
Bush is getting ready to hit Iran! Keep in mind that if Bush hits Iran you're gas price are going to double and the entire economy will likely crash and we'lll probably go under total martial law. All for our safety of course. And I'm sure that right before we hit Iran the government will detonate a suitcase nuke and vaporize a major city and claim Iran did it. The only thing that can stop them now is for the American people to have the courage to face the fact that the government is carrying out terrorist attacks and announcing fake terror alerts for political gain. Just as Hitler did when he burned the Reichstag in 1933.
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Pe..._for_0921.html Here are some examples of how Bush has benefited from terrorism in the past Read this article out of the register that talks about how the British terror plot was likely fake. http://www.workingforchange.com/arti...m?ItemID=21261 http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08...et_terror_labs http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/So...ring_0918.html The Daily Show Deconstructs Fed’s Miami Terrorists Hype http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8a4z9N3eYc CNN's Anderson Cooper: Are Sears Tower Terrorists Patsies? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su2Ga...2Eprisonplanet MSNBC's Countdown: Bush wanted to stage the shootdown of a UN plane to lure Saddam into war http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4D5MRkzPYA MSNBC's Countdown The Nexus of Politics and Terror: Bush uses terrorism for political gains http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az7yl-UnsQQ |

Bush doesn't have the authority to launch strikes against Iran. He may want to but Congress will keep him on a tight leash. Given the political climate in the US, especially with regard to the administration's dismal handling of Iraq, it's doubtful there'd be any sort of authorization handed to the POTUS unless Iran starts launching missiles first...

Is that the kind of lies that you're talking about? As far as Iran goes; what possible threat are they to us right now? Do they have any weapons system that could possibly hit any US target? Are we positive that their nuclear program is for weapons and not for energy? I think we have a shitload of diplomacy to go through before we reach the point of invasion. If and when the diplomacy fails, then we will have to make a decision.

The Secretary of State is quite understanding of Muslim women who wish to seek a license to drive. Of course, burka wearing women would never seek such a thing, so your point is moot. I also laughed at, "flying a foreign flag is a slap in you, [sic], face. I guess that means that my favorite Italian restuarant should stop flying the Italian flag because it offends your little teeny moral sensibilities? You're making my point for me. We are the land of freedoms and opportunities. Freedoms to do things that piss you off. Freedoms to fly whatever flag one might want. Freedoms to wear or not wear whatever one might see fit. It's the land of the free and the home of the brave, even if you don't agreee with them. That's the wonderful and unique thing about America. Maybe you were absent the day they taught that in History class.

I'd just as soon never see another confederate flag or one of Nazi Germany...

But isn't it lovely to know that you live in a country where such things can and do exist?
edit to add: I also would rather not see another Confederate flag or symbol of Nazi Germany, but I don't get to pick and choose Freedom.

Honey, I'm not encouraging anything, but I have to believe if the First Amendment insures my right to freedom of expression, it also applies to the expression of those that I would wish to smack in the head with a skillet.
I don't get to pick and choose who gets to enjoy our freedoms and protections.

Bruce, honey, take a breath.
a deep one... (unless you are truly advocating the overthrow of the Constitution, in which case, you might want to go talk to Criminal or other Anarchists.) The First Amendment guarantees my, (and your), right to say any old shit we want to against our government. Good thing or a bad thing? Or should the First Amendment say that you can say any old crap you want, as long as I agree with it? Good thing or a bad thing?

I think the opperative phrase there was, "a little less free". Honey, I don't, on a personal level, disagree with you, but I understand that, under our form of governement, we don't get to make things like freedom of expression illegal.
Look at it this way; If I had my way, purchasing a handgun would be the most difficult thing on the face of the planet. But I don't get to have my way. If I want all the protections of the rest, I have the eat the 2nd Amendment. And if I don't want to eat the Second, I can lobby Congress to change it. But I don't just get to say, "I think it wrong, therefore it shouldn't be".
