Leaving Hawaii tomorrow....
As much as I love ywam Kona, there are some things about living in dorm-type environment that I won't miss.
I WILL miss....

Be safe Cindy.
Bet you're getting pretty hungry about now.

So don't. Sell all of your belongings and buy whatever you need when you get there.

You have a safe trip back, Cindy. Prepare for rain Monday evening (might be a rather wet week).

Oh great, i'll be sure to dress for rain.... and it's probably going to seem cold there for me, after my body getting adjusted to the warm weather here! I remember when I went to Rosarito beach and San Diego for Christmas break, it seemed really chilly!I'll email you later, and maybe we can try to meet, if you have time. I'm excited about being back home for a bit! I can't wait to have some Mexican food! ![]() |

I arrived in the bay area, safe and sound! Everything went well with the flight and all that! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get all my stuff on the plane, because I had more suitcases than they allow on Aloha Airlines, and I had way too many carry-ons! (because over the last 6 months I guess I acquired more stuff than I originally brought)
So on the way to the airport, my roommate and I prayed in the car, and we asked for favor with the airlines people, because shipping it would've been too expensive. So when I get there (with 8 pieces total at first, before I condensed a couple things) the lady at the counter was like, "You can only check in 2." She didn't seem like she was going to budge, and she told me I would have to pay 80 bucks extra for the 3rd suitcase. And I had too many carry-ons too, so at first I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to get on, but then after a couple minutes, she just hands me my ticket and says, "go ahead." So I didn't have to pay the 80 bucks. ![]() The flight to Honolulu had a bit of turbulence, but not too bad. Then as I was heading to catch my flight to Oakland, I silently prayed for a divine appointment (normally I don't like chit-chatting with people on planes, but for some reason I was in a more talkative mood today).... and sure enough, as I'm going to my seat, I see a book on the seat next to me, that told me right away that this person was a seeker. It was some book about spirituality (not Christian) but I just had a feeling this person was a seeker. And I didn't even say anything, I was just reading my own book, and the man to my right starts asking me questions... about the book I was reading, what's it about, etc, etc. When I told him it was about living by faith, he asked some more questions, and I got a chance to tell him about what I had been doing in Kona, and he asked about how I became a christian, etc. So there was another answered prayer, the divine appointment. Turns out, the man was a law school professor at a university in San Francisco, and was a lawyer for constitutional law... so he was an interesting person to talk to! I hope that at least I said some things that he would think about... planted some seeds. Anyway, i'm glad to be back in California, even if it is wet and dreary right now! I'm excited about this week, I'll have a better idea if I'll be going to Switzerland or not, as the week goes on. (I know, it's kinda crazy, but we'll see what happens!) Quote:
Glad you liked the pics! Originally I only knew I'd be taking the first 2 quarters of the bible class for sure, the 3rd (final) quarter was a question mark from the start. But that was because I only had money for the first 2 quarters (and was even short for that).... btw, i've since realized that money shouldn't be what dictates what I do, because if i'm really supposed to do something, it'll happen even if i don't have the money. But during the 2nd quarter, I went through some struggles (long story) and after thinking/praying about it, I finally realized that I wasn't going to do the 3rd quarter at this time. but I felt really led to take a different class, called Intro to Biblical counseling. It starts in Switzerland on April 2. I've heard nothing but very good things about it, that it's transforming, and it sounds like something I really need. So even though I didn't have the money, I applied, got accepted, and now I have the money for the plane ticket (barely) but I don't have the tuition yet. But i'm going to be working this week for a friend of mine who needs a nanny, and I'm fundraising, and I know this sounds crazy to non-Christians, but I just know that if God wants me to go take this class in Switzerland, that the money will come in. If not, then it won't. So that's what's going on. I'm kinda living by faith right now, and I'm not used to it yet but it's kinda exciting. ![]() aahg, the battery on this laptop is about to die. brb!
