"Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" changed to "Baa, Baa, Rainbow Sheep"

Quote:
LONDON - Has anyone ever actually seen a rainbow-colored sheep? That's surely what a few British toddlers are asking.

Teachers at nursery schools in Oxfordshire, England, have asked children to change the words of "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep" to "Baa, Baa, Rainbow Sheep" to avoid the possibility of offending anyone.

"This type of thing is definitely happening in all parts of the country," said Laura Midgley, co-founder of Britain's Campaign Against Political Correctness. "This makes an issue about the color black when there should not be one."

"It's just a color at the end of the day," she said.
this woman has the right idea.

it's like when blacks started complaining about the movie king kong and how the big gorilla was a caricature of them. talk about shooting yourself in the foot

The song was never meant ot be offensive to anyone. In fact, it goes on to say that the sheep produced three bags of wool, which points out that the sheep was an asset.

It sounds to me like someone needed something new to whine about, and socially engineer more children to think that using the word "black" is bad, when it isn't. Black people use the word all the time.

The next thing you know they'll be lobbying to ban black crayons, or change the eight ball in pool to a new color.

It just seems like another feel good exercise that will have no effect on anything whatsoever, other than make a few people feel as though they've done something great for the world.

Insofar as "Baa Baa Black Sheep" constitutes an essential component of Western Civilization, this disgusting incident represents another step in the Libruls use of politically correct racism to wage a relentless and brutal genocidal assault on Western Civilization.

It's about time that White People who recite nursery rhymes took a stand in defense of their dying White Race.

this is the basis of 'multi-cultism'.

mind control and social engineering.

it reminds me of communist china or russia where they set up special committees that are supposed to regulate political thought, so that no one would say anything 'anti-revolutionary'. in no time, it took on a life of it's own and it attracted those who hungered for power and domination over others.

today we have the same thing where government officials regulate 'politically correct' thought.

your problem is that you can't connect events, or draw upon history.

so something has to be deemed by you, anybody, as essential to this or that for people to comment on it's ludicrousness? the point is not that the rhyme is essential, it's that more and more examples of this head in the sand, feel good, bliss-ninny way of looking at life and other people keep popping up all over the place.

the people that are complaining about this sort of thing are doing so because it is absolutley ridiculous. if you took this line of thinking to it's logical extreme, which happens more and more, we would live in a world where words, thoughts and the entirety of human history, culture and tradition would be dismantled and re-fabricated in the name of ultimate inclusiveness and sensitivity, which in reality is a complete lack thereof.

you can sit by and mock people's outrage at the acceptance of this extremely bad behaviour, if that's your want. but as has been mentioned before, this sort of craziness is the sort of thing that, by its very nature, seeks to expand...seeks to seep into every tiny aspect of living. eventually it will find its way into something that you value, and then your tune will change.
