At about 2pm Tokyo time I was sitting in a board (bored) room in Gotemba when I felt it. I don't know what it was on rigter scals, but it was first time I avctually feelt an earth quake. It was not what I expected. It really felt like the ripple affect when your on a ship and it gets rocked by waves. That's exactly what it felt like. It was coming from north of Fuji-san, I believe. The buildings wasnt damaged or nothing, but it was an experience. I dont know it was big at the epicenter. I might have been and be on the news.

It must have been from Hokkaido. I didn't think a 4.8 would reach from Hokkaido to Shizuoka prefecture, though.

Here's a good site: http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/bulletin/ You can scroll down to click on the latest quakes in any area. (One of the kids just did a science project about them.....thus my link knowledge.....LOL!)
I wonder if anyone else saw that special on Discovery last night on Yellowstone National Park. THAT was scary! |
