Angry How DARE you talk about MY CHICAGO PIZZA like THAT!!

We Windy City denizens are VERY TERRITORIAL & PROTECTIVE of ALL the things that WE hold near & dear to our hearts!

So, it REALLY GALLS me that this....pagan..this..HERETIC...talks about OUR Deep-Dish Pizza like he DOES! (Link Courtesy The Chicago SUN-TIMES)

Fella.....If you VALUE your LIFE....you won't EVER consider ANY visits to ANY PARTS of Illinois for a L-O-O-O-O-N-N-N-N-N-G time to COME!

Not with THOSE words of heresy that YOU had the nerve to espouse!

I prefer the thin crust New York style too
Chicago deep dish is delicious, but in an entirely different category than the New York, it's made different, it looks different, you eat it different. It's hard to compare the two and say that one is "better" than the other. I think it just comes down to preference

With the exception of perhaps John's... Pizzola's (LI) is better than anything you can get in the city.

Wheres Pizzola's?

There was a place in Huntington that had pretty good brick oven pizza but I cant remember the name.

There was also another decent brick oven pizzeria in Garden City. The name escapes me at the moment.

Umbertos? (New Hyde Park, Huntington, Hicksville and I believe there was one in Westbury) which has since changed it's name to Mama Sbarros.

Maybe this link will help: http://www.partypop.com/Categories/P..._Island_NY.htm

Sorry, I also mispelled 'Pizzaiola' in my original post. I'm not sure of the exact locations other than O'side but I know he just bought another joint close to your area, I believe.

You cannot get a legetimate anything in LA.

Chicago is weird. They call a casserole a pizza, a salad a hot dog and a pepper and egg a dining adventure.

I guess it is true the the Great Lakes are poluted with mercury.

They just opened a Mama Sbarros in Wantagh a month or 2 ago. I have yet to check that place out. As for the other place in Huntington, it wasnt Umbertos.

But if you want good Italian food, check out Lolas if you havent already.
