Students heckle Iranian president

Quote:
Iranian students have interrupted a speech by President Mohammad Khatami to mark Student Day at Tehran university.

Students chanted "Shame on you" and "Where are your promised freedoms?" to express their frustration with the failure of Iran's reform movement.

A visibly-shaken Khatami defended his record and criticised the powerful hardliners who have closed newspapers and jailed dissidents.

He asked students to stop heckling and accused his critics of intolerance.

I have a feeling that our uncomfortable relationship with Iran will take care of itself, possibly within the next decade.

Sounds like some students might get their heads chopped off.

These are the REAL freedom fighters in the middle-east, not the terrorists in Iraq that Michael Moore supports.

The young people in Iran have been protesting their government more and more frequently over the past few years. The point of my posting is that the hardline Iranian government is giving them free speech, which is a huge step in the right direction towards a free Iran. I don't think any of them will get their heads chopped off.

This is really good news, folks!
