Women allegedly drown ex-boyfriend's dog

"Two women are facing additional charges in connection with the killing of the Dewey the dachshund. A York County grand jury has indicted Shannon C. Walters, 34, of 5 Nichols Ave. in Newmarket, N.H., and Erin M. Wylie, 27, of 50 Harvard St. in Portsmouth, N.H, on two charges of theft and cruelty to animals, according to court documents. Police say the two women entered the apartment of Wylie's former boyfriend, Patrick Collins in Eliot on May 18 to collect various items including the dog and electronics. Wylie allegedly put a wool sock over Dewey's head, placed it into a garment bag and took it to her apartment in Portsmouth. Wylie allegedly had been bothered because the dog had difficulty being housebroken and was a nuisance to her relationship with Collins.
