Exclamation Cheap Eats: 3 fruits, 4 veggies just 64 cents!

There goes another excuse for not eating more vegetables.

"Cost" allegedly prevents them from eating more produce...despite what THIS says to the contrary (Link Courtesy USA Today)

Pretty much about the only person who HAD an excuse not to eat vegetables (Well, CARROTS, anyway) was....oddly enough....voice actor MEL BLANC (b.k.a. "BUGS BUNNY") who got violently ill from the taste..

i'm doing weight watchers right now, and we are learning about portion control, a serving of vegetables is not 1/2 cup, even on the box of peas, the serving size is 2/3 of a cup, that is the smallest i have seen. (who can eat more peas than that at one time anyways.) But all the other servings are based on one cup in weight watchers.

*shrug* we go to this ghetto store to get our veggies, they are just SO cheap at this place, red peppers for like 99c a lb, rather than the 2.39 you see at stop and shop.

okay, i'm looking it up, a serving of veggies is half a cup. hhmmph

i like this pyramid better, it's from the Harvard school of public health. It shows vegetables in abundance, but it probably is more expensive.
