LORT: Fellowship

Ribbit
Did everyone hear that the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring will be adding a half hour more footage in March and starting to show the first Movie 2 Trailer?

I'd go just to see it a third time anyway, but to get more footage and the Two Towers trailer...I am so there.

me too. I just saw it for the first time a few weeks ago!

what really irks me about all the LOTR stuff is that no one realizes there is a prequel to the Trilogy. Most people that watch the movie and don't read the book, don't really know what Gollum is all about etc.

When will the first one be out on DVD?

My guess is 'soon.' Im sure they want it out on DVD before the second comes out...

Then again, if Frog is right and they are doing a theatrical re-release, then maybe they will save all 3 for DVD and then do a massive release then...

That seems like a poor plan to me...cuase then what do they do before the 3rd one, do a rerelease of the first two?

Geoffery, the thing is, in the movie they did a good job of giving enough of a prologue to get people caught up...

true.. but still, if anyone wants to really get into it, they need to read all 4 books. IMHO

My 8th grade eng teacher liked the Hobbit so much, that he read it to ALL of his 8th grade eng classes, EVERY year. I actually looked forward to it Those books got me into D&D and Forgoten Realms, eventually leading me to my favorite author, R. A. Salvatore

Ribbit.

DVD's are suppsoed to be out in October and will be based on a director's cut more akin to the version we'll see next month in theatres. VHS is supposedly similar timing and with the added footage, but not the whiz-bang DVD add-ons.

As much as I loved the film wiht the first showing, I actually wished it was longer back then. Now it is. Woo hooo!

Long and wide- best kind of ...film. Yeah, film.

Anyhoo- It's supposed to be all the theatres that were showing it to begin with, they just get a new version. I understand we get the scene with Galadriel giving all the travellers a gift each, as well as other stuff.

My personal hope (though I've no idea if they ever even filmed it) would be to see the night between being turned back by the snowy pass of Redhorn but before getting to Moria. They were attacked by wargs (evil hell-wolves) and let's just say Gandalf made with more fireworks, as it were.

I'm hoping the DVD's each eventually come in a directors 'take-the-phone-of-the-hook-lock-the-doors-and-make-sure-you've-got-lots-of-snacks' long, long version. I understand the original pre-cut form was something like 5 and ahalf hours.
