Summer Sanitarium

Anyone else go?

I got tickets to LAs show...

The show/music was pretty good, I enjoyed myself a lot. The experience was horrible. NEVER AGAIN am I going to a show at the collesium unless I more serious plot my every move.

I live about 15 miles away from it. I figured we'd leave at 2:30, the show starts are 3, we'd miss the first band, and we'd be there by 4ish the latest.

Well, we left at 3 and were not sitting down until past 6.

We missed the first two bands and half of Linkin Park's set. I wasn't THAT disapointed, we also missed the blazing sun. That, an Linkin Park has continually failed to impress me live. After a bried (30ish minute) set change, Limp Bizkit went on.

Metallica fans are pretty harsh with a few boos here and there, but it was mostly cheers. You hve to give it to Fred Durst, he may be a prick, but he can work a crowd. Their set was pretty good, but I am a LB fan, so I also enjoy them.

Metallica took their SWEET ****ING TIME getting on stage, at an hour and a half. Their set rocked. Mainly because of their fans and the energy they bring.

All in all it was a good show. But LA public planners should be shot along with traffic directors, the people who put 6000 parking spaces (only) on site at the collesium, and USC for jacking up their parking prices.

Sounds like fun. I got to see Metallica back in'96 when they headlined Lollapalooza that year, and they rocked ruff stuff then too.

They did a 10-12 song set and 2 2 song encores.

The encorse were great and the first 7-10 songs of their main set were great.

They definately started running out of steam near the end of their main set.

When I went the lead singer of Metallica had just suffered a back injury...he was so toasted on painkillers that he kept having to leave the stage in between songs, forgot all of his lyrics, and even screwed up some of their original songs.
