my night with katie. proof that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
my best friend and her family are here visiting. they arrived earlier today while i was at work, so i was instructed to call them when i got off and was showered and all that good stuff. i called around 5 and was informed that they were going to see a show at 6. i was invited to join them but i had almost no money, and not enough time to go get money, get the tickets, and meet them in time.
so they went and got the ticket for me and i hurried there. see, problem is that i live in henderson, about 20 minutes away from the strip, and i had to meet them at the venetian in less than an hour. if traffic was bad on the strip, i'd have never make it. i stop by an atm so i would have money to pay them back for the ticket...it's out of cash. i would have been late if i went to another so i just continued to the strip. made it there 10 minutes before the show started! but they weren't there yet apparently they decided to walk from the m&m's factory all the way to the venetian (for those of you that aren't familiar with the strip: it's a long walk). i went to an atm so gil (katie's father) wouldn;t get pissed at me for not having the money. i had to pay a transaction fee they got there about 5 minutes after i did and all was fine and dandy. show was alright, it was funny, but nothing spectacular. i'd rather have spent my money on movies. after we get out katie discovers that she left her purse inside. we run up the stairs, we run down the stairs, we find ushers....finally she finds her purse. it was decided after that that everyone would shove into my car (6 people...my car only seats 5) and we'd go find food. after much searching i found my way back the parking garage, but at this point i realized that my keys were gone. katie and i ran back to the showroom to see if we could go look for them in there. the guy said that we couldn't because they had already begun seating for the next show. grrr...grrr.....grrr..grr..grr....grr. we looked around on the floor for a bit. asked the front desk. no one turned them in at this point meghan (katie's sister) is complaining that she's hungry, gil is pissed for having to come back to the showroom twice for forgotten stuff, and meghan was getting on his nerves. we ended up deciding to take a taxi back to their hotel then getting food. the taxis only seat 5, there were 6 of us, so we had to take 2. grr.....grrr.....grrr....grr. after that things ran a little smoother. ate dinner in peace, found other people that her family was supposed to meet. there was a little bit of complaining from the children for awhile there while the adults decided to gamble. they handed us money...we got over it. went a roller coaster (new york new york ).i eventually found my parents who have the spare keys to my car. they were at a concert which i thought would get out at 10 or so that didn't get out till close to midnight. my parents rescued me and gave me a key to my car. now i'm home, and tired, and already missing katie. they might be staying another day....hopefully i get to see her again tomorrow. with better luck this time |

I recommend mild OCD as a method for not losing stuff.
![]() Also, pants with pockets help you keep keys and wallets close, and give you the extra added bonus of touching your ass to make sure they're still there. ![]() |
