1. You think that unswerving disbelief which is unsupported by proof is somehow the opposite of faith

2. You think "fallacy of the converse" isn’t a fallacy

3. You don’t realize that "Proof X in favor of God’s existence is false, therefore God does not exist" has anything to do with #2

4. You think that skepticism is the same as atheism and believe that all skeptics agree with you

5. You think that agnosticism is the same as atheism and believe that all agnostics agree with you

6. You don’t believe in miracles or biblical infallibility, but you do believe in proof by induction and the infallibility of science

7. You claim the Bible and the Koran are false because they were merely the work of men, but have no problem with "The Origin of Species," "A Brief History of Time" and "The Selfish Gene," possibly because you believe they were written by women

8. You think that science and religion are necessarily opposite to one another

9. You would sooner believe that the Big Bang will be followed by a Big Crunch, followed by another Big Bang, and so on into infinity, than recognize the astronomically slim chance that the amount of matter in the universe is balanced just perfectly for this to happen

10. You are offended at the merest notion that if #9 were true, it might have something to do with a God

11. You would just as soon believe that the universe is a "quantum fluctuation," or a result of "the Omega Point" as you would believe in a traditional Big Bang model; one theory of the universe is as good as another, so long as it means you don’t have to recognize the possibility of a God

12. You declare, with fervent religious conviction, that world affairs will radically improve "as soon as we finally stamp out religion."

13. You see nothing wrong with stating that God exists nowhere in the entire universe based on observations made from the backwater region with which you are familiar, and fail to see any relationship between this and #6

14. When science confirms that the Earth wasn’t created in six days, you recognize this as proof of biblical errancy, but dismiss antiquated claims about the unbreakability of atoms, or the presence of a mystical substance known as "ether," as honest mistakes, and fail to see any relationship between this and #6

15. You feel a deep conviction that Einstein and Newton really agreed with you about this preposterous notion called "God," even though they made repeated statements to the contrary

16. You think the merest notion that a scientific figure you admire believes in God is a vile heresy and should be stamped out

17. You disclaim any belief in heresy

18. You confuse a dogmatic hatred of religion and a refusal to accept the existence of the supernatural with open-mindedness

19. You see the onward march of history as a progression from superstition and ignorance towards enlightened atheism, despite the fact that, after 6000 years of progress, belief in God is as widespread as ever

20. You think that anyone who displays one or more of these twenty warning signs somehow demonstrates his superior faculty of reason
