Saddam Hussein's sons killed in US raid: report

blah blah.
white house has no confirmation as usual.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/justin/we...3jul2003-8.htm

Owner Nawaf al-Zaidan "is believed to have informed US forces that Saddam's sons Uday and Qusay, Qusay's son, and a bodyguard named Abdul Samad took refuge in his house and he wanted to get rid of them", said a female relative of Zaidan who asked not to be named.

The relative and other residents of the area said US helicopter gunships fired at the house after clashes broke out when US forces tried to go in to arrest those inside.

Four charred bodies, believed to include those of Qusay, the "ace of clubs" on the US "most wanted list" of the former Iraqi regime, and Uday, the "ace of hearts", were taken out of the house, relatives of Zaidan said.

Mosul deputy governor Khasrow Guran later said that US forces were now trying to identify the four charred bodies.

U.S.: Uday, Qusay confirmed dead

U.S. officials confirmed that ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's sons Qusay and Uday were killed today in a firefight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. A special task force led the raid, backed by 101st Airborne troops, after intelligence indicated that Qusay and Uday were in the area together.

Interesting coicidence.

Hopefully the death of Uday and Qusay will result in reduced guerrilla war activity.

In trying to grasp how Iraq could be converted to a civilized Western country, I am reading Major General Courtney Whitney's book, MacArthur: His Rendevouz with History to comprehend how the great General MacArthur handled the US conversion of Japan to a Western country. I highly recommend the book.

MacArthur was a Christian who gave Japan the benefits of Christian concepts by exemplifying it highest values without forcefully imposing a religion on Japan. He encouraged all possible Christian missionary work and distributed 10,000,000 Bibles in Japanese translation.

The backward, state controlled religion of Shintoism taught that the Emperor was the divine high priest. The religion of Islam is used in a similar way to justify violence. In November 1945, MacArthur ordered state subsidation of Shintoism to cease. On New Year's Day 1946, he received the surprise help form the Emporer himself who voluntarily and publically renounced his own divinity. Similarly, it would undoubltedly help the prospects going forward if Islam, in effect, was overthrown and the clerics renounce the madness they have preached.

A few major networking engineering standards that rule the global internet are found only in North America and Japan. These have to be converted when crossing to Europe or other parts of the globe.

If it weren't for Harry Truman my americanized formerly South Korean mother and I wouldn't be alive and here today.

Prophet is a messenger. Allah had no son. Stop this foolishness. Saddam thought he was neither.
