Zookeeper Gets Severance Pay After BBQ-ing Animals

Zookeeper story

This is crazy. Hope they bring him up on criminal charges...destruction of property at the very least.

And they are very good at taking advantage of it.

Fired Zookeeper Gets Paid Despite Animal Feast

Nov. 8
— BERLIN (Reuters) - A German zookeeper, fired last month for eating animals in a town zoo, was awarded six-months severance pay after reaching a settlement in a labor court on Thursday.

The town of Recklinghausen, north of Cologne, fired the zookeeper after he was caught barbecuing five Tibetan mountain chickens and two Cameroonian sheep at the zoo, popular with children who were allowed to stroke the animals.

The man, employed at the zoo since 1997, challenged the dismissal saying he had not been given the six-months notice stipulated in his contract.

The town agreed to pay him six months wages but said he need not return to work, according to the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper in Recklinghausen. Germany's laws make it extremely difficult for employers to fire workers.
That's ridiculous that the law allows this man severance pay when he was fired.

That being said, During his interview:
"I like animals. I like em with a little salt and some ketchup."

HAHA.

I can't believe that...severance pay...after being fired...for what is essentially stealing from work and possibly cruelty to animals?

So, according to the story, the choices were stroke the animals or eat them? Maybe this should be in the Everything Forum.
PETA (people eating tasty animals) should hear about this, and I'm just the one to tell them. Bwahahahahahaaa
