Stalinism = Nazism?

Recently, in Vilnius an OSCE conference adopted the following resolution:
http://www.kommunisten.de/attachment...E_20090703.pdf
Basically, for the first time an European organism put the equal sign between Nazism and Salinism, acknowledging the fact that in their essential characteristics the two regimes are kindred.

The ideas are not new. At the beginning of the 50's Hannah Arendt recognized the common features of the two, so did later Raymond Aron, or the German historian Ernst Nolte and many others.

Even so, it seems Russians are quite furious, the Russian Parliament officially protested. So did some western communist parties.

So, any thoughts on the resolution, the two regimes or the Russian reaction?

The Russians who protested are either ignorant of their own history or are appologists for a terror regeim.

The only reason Stalin's crimes are forgotten are because he won the war. I actually think he was worse than Hitler.

Well, the thing is tht these reaction came from the Russian Parliament, and Medvedev and Putin, doe did make some concessions on historical matters in relation with Poland for example, consider this part of Russian history to be a moment of glory to report to.
A somewhat partial rehabilitation of Stalin it seems to be the Russian Government's official policy.
