Angry We should have shot this drunk when we had the chance

Man pleads guilty to three DWIs, making total of nine

Background:

In December 2002 this POS hit my aunt, uncle, and grandmother full broadside while returning from christmas shopping at 50 mph. My grandmother suffered 6 broken ribs, my uncle a broken foot, and aunt a broken arm. He was uninsured, and since my uncle didn't have uninsured motorist coveraage it was a complete loss They sued the dirty bastard and his company but didn't get a dime as he had his money divested in some manner that we couldn't get to it. He was all teary and apologetic in court, but that didn't stop him from doing it again it seems. What the **** took you so long to lock this maggot up Arkansas?

A man who pleaded guilty Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court to three felony charges of driving while intoxicated has now been convicted of the offense a total of nine times.

Uriel Uribe, 33, of Fayetteville pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated on Dec. 25, 2003, and Feb. 6, 2004, in Fayetteville, and March 19, 2004, in Washington County, as well as failure to appear on those charges.

He was sentenced to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, with 15 suspended, leaving 15 to serve. He is to pay $ 3, 000 in fines and $ 900 in court costs. He received credit for serving 150 days in the Washington County Detention Center.

The fourth offense of DWI is when it becomes a felony. In order to count prior convictions to determine if it should be charged as a felony, the priors must have occurred within the past five years of the arrest, according to Arkansas law.

Every DUI should be a felony.

I think what most of you call DUI we call DWI down here. DUI is a lesser charge, just means you are under .008.

Here, the third conviction means a minimum 90 days. Personally speaking, after a second conviction, a person should lose their license permanently.

Nine DUIs you say?

Now that is one seriously ****ed up individual.

I am surprised he still has wheels. In Illinois there is a bill to take the car away from people like that.

Sorry Dude you had to go through this .

We also have millions under influance of prescrib drugs who can be just as dangerous . They are usually the ones doing a hundred on a 70 mph highway ,who fly the left lane and tailgate if your going under 95mph . .

LateGreat,

Are you assuming that someone without a license is going to NOT DRIVE ?

Just look at all the illegal aliens in the US who, without any legal documentation of any kind, drive all over the country, causing accidents, killing people with their hit-and-runs, and generally making life very unsafe for everyone.

No, my great-grandpa drove for like 10 years after California took away his license on account of him being older than ****. But we still SHOULD take their license away, don't you agree?

Take away his license, sure. But the post you made gave me the impression that you assumed that people without licenses don't drive ... which is a very bad assumption to make, because it just ain't true.

That's why I say take away the license and put 'em in jail. The sentences usually given for DUIs/DWIs are so lenient it never fails to boggle my mind.

Hmmm...how about if we blinded them as well? That would solve the driving, Hmmm?
