That's horrible.
All the brilliant scientists I know are completely socially inept. Why is that? Even if you're smart, you still should go through the dance of being nice to people. Intelligence (actual or perceived) is not an exemption for being considerate of others.

true.he died a few years ago-i saw him before he passed-it was weird-this guy was intimidating and here he was struggling to breathe-i really tried to have a normal relationship with him-parents are tough..

It's strange when you see the tormentor in a weakened state. You'd think it would take all the power out of the way you were treated, but usually it's not the case. We almost lost my dad to cancer, and in the days leading up to his surgery, we all expected the Hallmark moment where we come together and forgive, but it never happened. He pulled through, and was changed as a person. Jury's still out on whether it's for the better.

i have a tension relationship with my dad for so long time. i resisted him constantly. now i'm growing up and can understand him a little more.

its the thought that counts. dads shoudnt tell their kids they are ugly. it doesnt say anything about the kid, only about the mind of the dad.
