Suzanne Vega

What ever happened to her?

I liked her album but then she just disappeared.

Luka was a good song, a chripy little number about child abuse.

Sometimes people ride fame to the grave, sometimes it lets you off at the next stop.

Vega's new album Beauty & Crime is set for release in July 17 2007 on Blue Note Records.

My intuition is she is the type of person to want to withdraw from the public eye a lot. She probably isn't chasing fame: rather indulging it when she has something she needs to express. Good on her!

I thought she wrote a few good songs, especially the lyrics, but the girl just can't sing. I used to call ehr Suzanne "Valium" because she sung in such a monotonic voice, and sounded like she was ready to go to sleep.

I experience her singing style in a different way. It really is unique. There are moments where it doesn't work for me, but others where it is perfect, often within the same song.

A lot of famous people just vanish.

Like Jan Micheal Vincent. He was the big star of Airwolf...

Last I heard he was sighted outside several pubs in Hollywood begging for change.
