Water Damage?

So the new drama in my life includes problems in my bathroom. I noticed the other day, while taking a shower, that there are “bubbles” in the left corner on the ceiling over the bathtub/shower. Due to the insistence of a couple of people, I called the apt. people because that is apparently water damage.

The maintenance people went and checked it out yesterday and said they fixed the problem which was a leak in the apartment two floors above me.

Yay! All fixed!

Yeah not really.

This morning, after taking my shower and returning to the bathroom to dry my hair I noticed a collection of water droplets on the ceiling above the bathtub. I called the apt. office again to report it and they are sending someone out. I spoke with the same woman and she didn’t seem too concerned so my question is, should I be? I’m a little concerned about mold and mildew. I can’t breathe that stuff with my asthma. It’ll make me very very sick. Is serious amounts of mold growth possible?

If I get repeated reluctance to look into the issues by the apartment office what are my options? Who should I call?

…besides Ghostbusters

Oh no. If there’s a problem then they need to fix it. I don’t pay them over $1k a month for me to fix something like that myself.

Yeah, serious amts of mold growth are both possible and likely, mostly inside the wall where you can't see it.

If the apt. manager doesn't listen, then call the management company's corporate office and complain.
