National Honor. Imagine that. Respect for a foreign country you're visiting. How novel. Accountability for one's stupidity. Now THAT'S over the line!

. I actually debated one of his staff on this issue, and it was what motivated me to recruit some votes for Jim Webb.People really do take a lot of freedoms for granted. Many in the west just assume that you can travel the world and speak your mind, dress as you feel is appropriate, chew gum, and get blind drunk in public. The process for International travel used to be aggregious enough that you would have to deal with your embassy and they would point you at some pitfalls, but those days seem to be long past. It is very easy to get caught up in another nation's legal system unintentionally. But I'm not sure I really pity people who travel without finding out about the place they are going to. Then again, I may just still be bitter about the 100-odd pages I had to read before going to Japan.
