Clinton Objects to Confederate Flag

Quote:
State Flag
The official state flag of Arkansas was chosen in a design contest in 1913; the winner was Miss Willie Kavanaugh Hocker of Wabbaseka. The flag's design was finalized in 1926.

The diamond shapes in the center represent the diamond gemstone, because Arkansas is the only state in the USA where diamonds have been found. Since Arkansas was the twenty-fifth state to join the Union, there are 25 white stars around the diamond. The three blue stars in the lower part of the center represent Spain, France and the United States, the countries that have ruled Arkansas. The blue star in the upper center represents the Confederacy, of which Arkansas was a member.

Clinton Objects to Confederate Flag

Feb 19 4:25 PM US/Eastern

By JIM DAVENPORT
Associated Press Writer

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday that South Carolina should remove the Confederate flag from its Statehouse grounds, in part because the nation should unite under one banner while at war.
"I think about how many South Carolinians have served in our military and who are serving today under our flag and I believe that we should have one flag that we all pay honor to, as I know that most people in South Carolina do every single day," Clinton told The Associated Press in an interview.

"I personally would like to see it removed from the Statehouse grounds," the New York senator said during her first trip to the early voting state since announcing her White House bid.

Other Democratic hopefuls, including Sens. Joe Biden and Chris Dodd, have said the flag should come down. The banner, which once flew over the Statehouse dome and now flies nearby, is the subject of an ongoing NAACP boycott.

Really? Then why didnt she do something about the Ark. state flag while her husband was Gov?

Hiltery is a BS artist....she will say whatever she has to to get elected....that's also means, lie, cheat and steal.......she stands in front of a mostly black crowd in a mostly black town in SC and says she would remove the flag......how about going down to Charleston SC where white southern heritage runs deep and tell a mostly white democratic crowd the same thing? She would get booed off the stage. So she starts the race card early in the game....hopefully my fellow black community will see her for what she really is.......

Honor guard harassed at Arena

Albany -- Police unit was spit at and called names as they carried flags at Democratic convention

Members of the Albany Police Department Honor Guard were harassed and spit on by a few people as they carried flags into Tuesday's Democratic state convention at Pepsi Arena, officials said.
"This was probably a very small minority in a sea of legitimate Democratic Party members,'' said Albany Police Chief John C. Nielsen. "It's probably going to send the wrong message about what was in fact an overwhelmingly peaceful, law-abiding and respectful group.''

President Bill Clinton attended the ceremony as state Democrats unanimously nominated Hillary Rodham Clinton as their U.S. Senate candidate.

The five-member honor guard, which is made up of Albany police officers, told authorities that some people in the crowd of 11,500 Democratic supporters called them .' ''

The harassment took place as the officers entered the arena around 5:45 p.m. in front of the Albany Police Department Pipes & Bags band.

The honor guard were in full-dress uniform and carrying the American flag, said Detective Thomas McGraw, president of the Albany Police Officers Union.

"We are very upset,'' McGraw said. "The honor guard were asked to act as ambassadors to the city of Albany. They were invited guests and they were volunteering their time.''

The incidents allegedly took place on the floor of the arena, where only delegates carrying passes were allowed access, officials said.
We also see what democrats think about the American flag.......

Am I missing something here?

south carolina has confederate flag flying over the statehouse, correct?
And this is what she's bitching about...

the ar-kansas flag is not a confederate flag per se, it just has a "blue star in the upper center [that] represents the Confederacy."
Do we not see the difference here?
One is a confederate flag, the other has a confederate star on it's state flag...

the ar-kansas state flag:

And she'll live forever too, you watch. We'll never be able to get rid of her. I'm hoping she'll develop a severe case of terminal anal cancer.

ar-kansas, staked to claim by kansanite pirates...

and does no one see the difference between the two flags?
or do you just not like the fact that she lobbies for the confederate flag to be taken down?

Since I live in Arkansas, and Arkansas history was mandatory for all middle schoolers I think I know the correct way to spell the name, and that doesn't include a f'ing hyphen. It's also not pronounced in any way that rhymes with lame ass kansas. Nobody but a stupid yankee would pronounce it like kansas.

So now that you've been properly educated, I don't see the difference in the 2 flags. Number 1, the intent of the confederate star had everything to do with miscontent by still living confederates, practically everyone in the state, at the time of it's creation. Ditto for South Carolina, except that the stars and bars are not the confederate flag at all. Carolina could hoist the real one up and wave it for a year before those knuckle draggers in the NAACP figured out that they'd been had.

I pray Hillary shares her rhetoric down here in her second home, a perennial democratic powerhouse. I'm sure that would go over GREAT.

Back when Bill and Hill were stealing shit from the white house, Guliani raised the Arkansas flag over NYC in honor for some dumb reason, and was dealt a tremendous backlash over that little confederate star in the Arkansas flag.

yeah, thanks for the education...
I'm glad you at least have a middle school education...

In one case, the entire (confederate) flag has a certain, specific representation. It was the flag of the confederacy, symbolizing a failed attempt at succession and everything else it stands for…
It’s in no way, representative of a specific state; it’s more like a group of states.

In the second case, it's the state's flag. And only a small portion of the flag has a similar symbolic representation (to the confederate flag), that would need to be explained to anyone not living in that specific state and probably even a good amount of that state's residents…
Totally different.

If south carolina needs their confederacy participation so well represented, they should be more slick, like (say) ar(gh)-kansas…

I'd love for Hillary to come give that speech in Mississippi. They'd probably lynch her ass.
Although her husband did help start that BS a few years ago here where they had a vote on the Confederate flag. Of course, the vote didn't go like they wanted so they keep on bitching....

she and her ilk just CANNOT keep their noses out of others' business. this is the sort of presidency we can expect from her.....a nosey soccer mom that knows what's best for YOU, and how YOU should behave and speak and think in YOUR neighborhood. i know what's best for the american people....LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!!! have a FEW basic laws, enforce them stringently and evenly, and leave the rest up to the states.

No question I'm a prick, and fully aware of it...

But I'm also open-minded enough to where, when I hear a good point made (even in opposition), I acknowledge it as being valid...

Yeah, and no thanks to you Europe. You gave us secesh a shit load of guns but they were crappy guns from your basement. The french ones had already been dropped once. I have a whole cabinet full of French, Belgian, and English bullets you peeps were peddling back then.

They all laid waste. That's why there as so few pre-civil war houses in my county. Union army, 2/3 german speaking hun immigrants burned the place to the ground. We resent them to this day. I told my wife the next time we're in D.C. I aimed to spit on the lincoln memorial, but she threatened to divorce me if I did so in her presence.
