Kerry to bow out of presidential race

WASHINGTON - Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, the Democrats' losing presidential candidate in 2004, does not intend to run again in 2008, a Democratic official said Wednesday.

This official said Kerry intends to seek a new six-year term in the Senate.

Kerry plans to disclose his political plans in remarks on the Senate floor later in the day, according to this official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to avoid pre-empting a formal announcement.

Yay! Next up, somebody needs to explain to Hillary that she would make an awful president.

I'm not even so sure that it's that she would make an awful President, it's that she in absolutely un-electable.

I would have hoped that she would, for the good of the party, fall on her sword and remove herself from the running. There is nothing on the face of the planet that will more mobilize the Republican party than a Clinton on the ticket. The Repubs would elect Satan before they would allow Hillary to take office.

You'd think that she'd recognize this and fall on her sword for the good of the party.

Why am I laughing at this?

According to most repubs, she is Satan.

Not only that, but if she was somehow elected, we would have a two-family dynastic presidency. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton for up to 28 years.

That is not how this country was intended to function.

All she has to do is win every state that Gore and Kerry won plus one more,I think she can do it.

He'll probably re-decide to run and re-decide to dropout about 14 times between now and then. You know good ole Kerry!

Personally, I don't think she can do it. I think Repubs will be dragging people out of nursing homes to the polls, if need be, to make sure that she is not elected.

At this moment, there is some dissention in the ranks of the Repubs. The Dems have the best chance in I don't know how many years to actually get people to vote across party lines with the right candidate, and, in my opinion, Hillary is not that candidate. Nothing will bring the Republican party together and moblize their voting power more than a Clinton on the ticket.

Hillary should eat one for the party and bow out now.

Maybe she can pull it off, Dems were dragging them out of jail, diging up dead folks and everything else to beat Bush ... Bush still won.

I would but she would never listen to me.

I wish Nancy Pelosi would run.

Nah... it would be more of the same kind of psudo liberalism that Bill had for 8 years. Think more ridiculous crime bills, more empty promises and more fascism like Waco, more of Janet Reno and more bullshit. The Clintons were always an embarassment to the progressive movement.

Wow, I'm in total agreement with you.

And I think there's a reason for this Bush/Clinton/Bush stranglehold, but I'll be called a conspiracy theorist if I brought it up.

You are absolutely right. I know if she got the nomination I would go out of my way to rally everyone to the right of Lenin to vote against her, and I know a ton of other people who are just as passionate.
