She also could have climbed into the hood of a car, and whenever the owner started the engine up her head could have gotten cut up and she could have bled to death.
She could have wandered onto one of the near by farms and gotten trampled by cows/horses.
She could have been mistaken for a different animal and shot by a hunter.
She could have gotten into anti-freeze and was poisoned to death.
