7 years ago today Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. There was wide spread flooding and people trapped in their houses from the water and hundreds of people died/drowned.
Fast forward to today. Hurrican Isaac is hitting New Orleans. While not a cat. 5 like Katrina, when you live in a coastal area that's shaped like bowl surrounded by levee's, that might be a clue to GTFO. Already there are reports of people trapped in their houses. One guy called 911 sayin he, his wife and 1-1/2 year old kid were trapped in the attic and he was gonna have to SHOOT his was out. Really dude?? You didn't hear after Katrina that an axe in your attic is standard equipment in N.O.? Now somebody has to risk their life because you decided to stay. How many fucking hurricanes does New Orleans need to get before the people there learn they need to EVACUATE!!

If you decide to stay, after being advised that you're making a huge mistake, then you shouldn't be able to call in others to come get you when you realized you made a shitty decision.

well tha racis Bush blew the levies
just like he and da zionists blew up the wtc
Actually it was years of neglect before Bush ever got to office. I blame Bush for not being more heavy handed with the powers that be in N.O. and insisting they evacuate. He could have made a strong suggestion to the Governor and Mayor to get those people out of there. I remember seeing school buses under water and thinking Why are the just sitting there? Those buses should have been loaded with people taking them to higher ground. But as usual the government turned out to be incompetent. Today N.O. residents have nobody to blame but themselves.

Had Bush been more heavy handed then the Chocolate people would say that he was a nazi. No win. Let those ignorant people take care of themselves.
Did anyone else see the live footage of those idiot drunks playing in the storm surge before it hit in full force? Some people just don't realize how dangerous wind and water can be until they are trapped in their attics or floating around the streets...
Some people are just stubborn. I remember before Mt. ST. Hellens blew up, there were several people who had lived around the mountain for years and refused to leave. After it blew up they went with it and helped fertilize the flora and fauna that grew up out of the ash. I really don't think they were stupid, but I do think they should not be compensated for any loss they incure, if people return to a dangerous area and have that danger revisit them a second time.
Get out the living, bury the dead and move on with their lives. We shouldn't promote idiotic behavior by subsidizing it. That's how the two party system came about and where did that lead us!![]()

justme, I dated a broad back in the day and while at Hood River she insisted we drive up to MOUNT ST. HELENS, which was a long fucking ride in a convertible Mustang up those narrow logging roads! That broad was selfish!
Well, that would depend on what you guys did after you reached your destination. lol. I can envision a lot of non selfish things she could did with you that would make such a journey desirable. I take it that nothing along those lines occurred. Sorry man!
I just hope your car was all right after making that trek back and forth on those dirt roads. They aren't exactly known for their smooth surfaces. Whatever happened to the car anyway?
