    Paul Ryan's a disaster

"Ryan's budget - or 'A Roadmap for America's Future,' as it is formally known - would effectively end Social Security for those under 55; do the same for Medicare and Medicaid; strike the last bit of fairness in our tax code by eradicating the principle that if you earn more you pay more; drastically reduce food stamps; and slash government education assistance, scientific research and infrastructure spending.

"As a result, America would be without a retirement plan for seniors, and 47 million Americans would lose health insurance. The rich would receive a massive tax break. About 50 million Americans would be deprived of reliable food sources, and the investments we need to grow fairly and sustainably would be undermined.

"The most radical and reckless idea embedded in the Ryan cuts is that America is at its best only when millionaires prosper."

    http://www.startribune.com/opinion/1...6.html?refer=y

Apparently others can see the handwriting on the wall, too. How in the world can anyone think that this new assault on American values is going to get any traction during this, or any, campaign?

Republicans have shown us for decades now how out of touch they are with the country, if not with reality altogether, but this display of Sarah Ryan's borders on the pathological. The first smart thing Romney has done since biting off more than he can chew by running against the incumbent is distancing himself this early on from his newly-appointed young ward.

Keep quoting the indefensibly wrong. Ryan's plan would save Medicare from Obama's predations (he's admitted that he raided it for Oh-crap! care) and otherwise inevitable collapse.

Now, if you want a truly disasterous VP, look no further than Plugs Biden.
    The ambassador died, Obama lied.

Fyi, Ryan also disavows Ryan medicare plans. Roofles. Ryan tried to bash Obama for cuts that Ryan voted for. Fucking dumbasses.

Most excellent. Ryan is a genius. This would be the first proper step this country has taken in decades.

Ryan’s plan to revamp Medicare – which included Obama’s $716 billion in cuts to the projected growth of Medicare – was a central feature of a federal budget proposed by the congressman and passed by the Republican-controlled House in April. Romney has said he would sign it as president.
In an effort to seize the offensive, Romney has started running a television ad slamming Obama for the $716 billion in Medicare spending cuts without mentioning that his running mate proposed the same reductions or that voiding them would blow a giant hole in Republican plans to reduce the deficit.

You mean Romney was for the cuts before he was against them?

if Paul Ryan is the conservative genius the Republicans are making him out to be why didn't he run for President? Why is he playing second fiddle to someone who many on the right feel is too liberal and not deserving of being called a "Republican" ?

Your assumption is that the smartest people in America run for the highest office in the land. I can debunk that assumption in one word: Obama

Why is he playing second fiddle to someone who many on the right feel is too liberal and not deserving of being called a "Republican" ?
    This question is also irrelevant

Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

And the Republican candidate is relevant? I can debunk that misperception in one word: November.

    Because Republicans are moderates.

If more Republicans were moderates within their own party, the party would have a future. As long as their noisy, extreme fringe is calling the shots, its days are numbered. They are destroying the party.
