Does one's recollection of events through memory represent a real recollection of events or is it a fictionalised account of what has happened?
Due to the impurities of memory, can it be relied on or does time make fools of us all (ok that's a quote in relation to sour milk).
One person may remember an event in one way but another person who is entirely in the same event will have a different recollection with the truth being somewhere in the middle of the two recollections.
I personally pride myself on having a good memory of events but maybe my good memory is in actuality that I have more confidence that my memory of events is right rather than it actually being right.
What's your view on the subject?
e. e. cummings is my hero.
I think one's memories are usually altered when recalled, especially those memories which made you feel strong emotion - such as embarrassment, love, hate or depression. When Recalling these memories the human brain tends to exaggerate the good feelings, and things you liked to experience, and then the bad things aren't hi-lighted, and are in some cases removed altogether from memory, because it was embarrassing/depressing etc, and the Human mind prefers to remember positive things, rather than negative, this is why this sometimes happens. Hope it helped![]()
