    Fake Facts Thread

so the idea, folks, is this:
you make up some facts and post them in this thread.
let's have some fun with making stuff up.

    please note
    - all post should be not breach forum rules.
    - let's not make it personal by targeting other users. i want it to be fun for all, not just the person posting.

Cycling - one of the most controversial races in cycling was the Berlin - Moscow race staged in early 1940. This was in celebration of the non aggression pact between the two countries with the german riders going from berlin - moscow - berlin and the russian riders going from moscow - berlin - moscow. However, the race ended inconclusively as neither the german nor soviet authorities could agree to who had actually won the race, both claiming their best rider was the winner. this is what happens when you have two finish lines, countries apart.

The Republic of Moqueria - The republic of Moqueria stands as the shortest known country in history, having been declared as an independent state on 14th June 1984 at 3:35pm. However unfortunately, the army of Spain was doing the bank collection that day in the town and the republic of Moqueria was vanquished by 3:38pm.

    Not fake, but fact

Once upon a time a guy lets call him John Doe was supposed to be over his GF's house doing his laundry but never arrived. What was he doing? Well he got stoned, went to the center of town and began sniffing around the local Yacht club. Someone saw him and called the police, who came quickly because it was the center of town and there is always cops there. Meanwhile John decided to steal a boat and go for a ride. Well just as he was about to get underway the police arrived to arrest him. He decided to make a run for it with the boat but unfortunatley forgot to untie the boat from the dock. Well he gunned the motor, pulled the dock apart, realized he wasn't going anywhere with the boat and jumped into the Harbor and made a swim for it. Needless to say the cops were waiting for him when he came ashore and that's how John Doe got busted.
