Yeah, a long time ago! Our usual circle always had one serious problem in completing any game though....beer, and lots of it.

By the end of the evening, we'd be out on the balcony, (Izmir Turkey), playing water balloon bombardier on unsuspecting passersby.

I used to play when I was in grade school, but only once since. What I did stick with is the miniatures; I've been painting them my whole life. At this point, my collection is somewhere in the thousands..

It's been a long while! In college, I moved over to Talislanta.

They have the PDF books as freebies.

The fourth edition is best. Give it a look see, especially the Midnight Realms. I use to like playing the Ariane Seeker (or Druas).
I Pledge Resistance, to the Nazi Flag, of the United Police States of America, and to the Private Federal Reserves for which it stands. One Corporation, under Goldman Sachs, unaccountable, with poverty and slavery for all.

I'm biased by my childhood experience, but I vastly prefer the classic AD&D. It's more focused upon role-playing rather than combat. The demi-human classes from that edition influence my personal vision of the genre to this day.

I started playing a fourth edition campaign with a few friends this year. I'm new to tabletop gaming but so far it's pretty fun.

It also served as my gateway game to Munchkins, which I love.
