Best sub movie ever, ever.
I just finished reading
about the sinking of a ship taking Brittish kids to Canada from England during WWII. It was sunk by a U Boat.
Thought about watching Das Boot. Anyone watch it? Like it?

Das Boot was brilliant, couldn't recommend it more. Unless you like sitting in one spot for 5 hours, though, I'd suggest watching it in the hour-long TV miniseries episodes.

Must watch the non dubbed hun version.
DAS BOOT was a bit slow, even by the far less action-packed standards of 1970's cinema, but it built up to a razor-sharp climax.
A two-hour version in 70 mm was released in US theaters, but I don't know if it's available on DVD.

Possibly the most absorbing war movie ever made. Made you see the war though the German point of view.
