    Dumbass calls 911 over sandwich

Connecticut man calls 911 over errant deli sandwich order
    By Eric Pfeiffer

    Reporter

A Connecticut man called 911 over a sandwich order gone wrong. (Original images: (AP/Getty Stock)A man at a Connecticut deli called 911 and asked the authorities to intervene after he became concerned that the sandwich shop was not preparing his order correctly.

"Um, hi. My name is Rother McLennon and I'm at Grateful Deli," the man says on the 911 recording. "I specifically asked for um little um, turkey, and little um ham and a lot of cheese and a lot of mayonnaise…and they are giving me a hard time so I was wondering if you could stop by and just…"

That's when the dispatcher responds in disbelief, asking, "You're calling 911 because you don't like the way they're making your sandwich?"

    "Exactly," McLennon answers.

CBSNewYork reports that the dispatcher calmly advises the caller to not buy the sandwich and to leave the store.

"He's telling me he won't make it for me again, just because of that," McLennon pleads. "So, I just want to solve this the right way, you know?"

"They playing games with me," he continues. "So, I'm just wondering if you could come by?"

After what sounds like a scoff and a very long pause, the dispatcher says, "Just stay there, or stay outside, I'll send somebody. In the future, just don't buy the sandwich, ok?"

The guy actually complained there was too much meat on his sandwich. WTF? Is there such a thing for a man to have too much meat on his sandwich? Too little yes, but I've never heard hubby complain there was to much. This guy should have his man card revoked IMO.

    This thread is awesome!

I mean the incident itself boggles the mind.

But so does your response to it Lillian... You actually put the accent on the man being upset he was given too much meat, rather than on the truly stupid act of calling 911 about it

Am I taking you too literally, or do you really think its a good thing to eat as much meat as possible? A sentient being goes through a hellish life, and then is slaughtered to make the meat that goes in our sandwiches... I'd say its actually a REALLY legitimate thing to be upset about, if you deliberately ask for very little meat, and are ignored.

What your hubby does about the meat in his sandwich is only indicative of his attitudes, nothing else.

Guy wasn't being health conscience, he asked for lots of cheese and mayo and little meat. Of course I think calling 911 for a sandwich is stupid. If my Mom needed an ambulance and couldn't get through because this jackass was tying up the line with his sandwich problem, I'd want to ring his neck. I just thought it went without saying how incredibly stupid it was. What really boggles the mind I don't think he was arrested.

There ought to be a fine attached to calling 911 for anything less than a broken bone Might help solve the deficit!

    Invoking the Authorities

Fortunately, there are usually a few police officers eating at the hamburger joint near my office. If the ladies in the kitchen make any mistakes with my food, I can ask them to enforce my gastronomical rights. Of course, they'll just laugh & ask when I got out of the looney bin.

Seriously, though. It sounds like this guy was teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown or something. I would've sent an officer along to check up on him, if anyone was just cooling their heels, that is.
Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.

The brilliant man forgot he could take some of that "too much meat" off himself, huh? What a world class idiot.

Revoke his card? He should be fined for calling 911, at the very least. Those operators need not to be bothered by idiots.

Good on McLennon for standing up for his rights as a consumer! Customer service these days is abysmal. It should be a crime to willfully mess up somebody's food.
