Should I wait for the Iphone 5?

So I am switching to a smartphone after having one of those old twenty dollar phones. I really like the Iphone 4s and I have had my sights on it for a long time. My plan is up very soon and I heard of the Iphone 5. Should I get the 4s or wait for the five?

I went ahead and got the 4s. I'm not crazy about Apple making a phone that's going to be any bigger than the current iPhone. The size is perfect IMO and anything bigger would be off for me. Plus, it seems like what Apple is doing with making the screen bigger is only cater to a growing market that feels they SHOULD have bigger screens. Seems uncharacteristic of Apple to try to catch up its competitors vs. it doing what is best for Apple.

Plus, I picked up the 4s because I couldn't wait for the 5

Hahah Thanks for the input! Yeah I eventually got the 4 and I am loving it right now. The way I see it if the 5 is worth it ill trade in the 4 and pay the difference!

You don't think they're doing for an aging population. Yes, you can zoom out but the formatting is off. I've been holding out for a bigger screen. The glass top has even got a lot of cracks in it from me dropping it on concrete a couple of months ago.I hear it's going to be longer but the same width, though the visual screen will be a little larger.

I've have always wished it was bigger... With me, would you rather watch tv on a 30 incher or a 60 incher? Putting that thing in your pants pockets is crazy. So, it's just have to ergomocially fit in my hand the best.

Isn't an iPhone simply a phone plus an electronic game device (toy) plus a camera to upload pictures to the cesspool of narcissism, Facebook?

All gadgets that either nobody ever uses or everyone has anyway on their computer. But what the heck, you look hip and cool in Starbucks reading Facebook about your friend's Little Johnny who ate his first bowl of oatmeal. An $300 iPhone is 20% functionality and 80% a trendy, status symbol, conformity device, kind of like an iFad.

    How about:
"Sent From My iPhone" just to let people know you own an iPhone. (Some people who don't use an iPhone actually pay a service to add this to their messages just to look like they own an iPhone.)

Never been to Starbucks. Only been to Facebook when somebody linked it (like one of those two guys that killed those negroes in Okie had a Facebook page).

A computer is not as portable as a hand-held device. And frankly, with my iPad, the computer is awfully lonely over there. You ought to get a tablet, surfing the net from the couch, bed, shitter, etc is GREAT!

    Sent from my iPad.

^^^^^ This. I mentioned before that I picked up the 4s very recently and I'm glad of it. I was really just waiting up for Apple's newest iOS upgrade but after the recent WWDC and they revealed that the 4s would be upgradable to all of the iOS upgrades that the new iPhone would getting, I figured there was no reason to wait. At the end of the day, what matters is if the PHONE can be used as a PHONE. I'll admit that I am at the mercy of the whole "latest device" craze, but am somewhat of a laggard too since I'll wait for the device to come out and be "fixed" of all it's bugs and whatnot before I take a stab at it myself. As it stands, the only thing that the 4s does not have that would be slightly upsetting would be 4G connectivity, but to be completely honest, after having spent 6 months with a "dumb" phone, I'll be willing to wait that extra 10-15 seconds to have my webpage load up.

Plus, 4G is supposed to kill battery like no other. People will say that the new iPhone or any 4G phone for that matter will have an upgraded battery to accommodate the stress from 4G connection, but I'll take SLIGHTLY slower speeds with an unhampered 3G connection any day over the former, thank you very much!

Hey, Charles, I work 10-14+ hour days, balancing legal work with chairing two non-profit organisations. My phone tells me where I need to be, when, and what I need to do there. It allows me to receive emails across several accounts simultaneously. It allows me to check currency fluctuations and quickly calculate our cashflows. I can login to our full accounting software package, Xero, from my phone. I can work on documents from my phone and iPad while on the go, or even waiting in the back of a Court list. I can pull documents that one of my volunteers need from the shared drive on my home computer and email them to a volunteer while getting lunch in a cafe.

I run four email accounts (together checking 10-12 aliases) and four calendars, including my work's exchange serve. I have five different categories to do lists. I can take a note that syncs instantly to all my devices, giving my ubiquitous text capture. I use my phone to track my receipts and expenses, which I can then email to my CFO or treasurer to arrange expenses on my non-profit work to be reimbursed (or to my secretary for work). I get my office voicemail to my phone.

I check approximately 250 RSS feeds, including several newspapers. I can watch several 24 hour news channels on the bus (I have ~20 news apps on my phone). I can check the Yellow Pages to get a client's phone number. I can use Google Maps to map a route to the place I need to be, then see a picture of what the building looks like so I know where to go.

When I'm running social media for one of our campaigns, I can queue up a day's Twitter posts and Facebook posts from Buffer, easy.

I can check film times. And bus times. And capture my shopping list. I can order something online, then track its shipping. I can see a map with a pin showing every vegetarian restaurant in a new city to plan my lunch. I can scan my phone and walk onto a domestic flight with nothing more. I can check flight prices across months and multiple airlines. I can check flight times to see if I'll be delayed.

I can records the pace and distance of my runs and training rides.

    My phone rules.

I did. Without a modern smartphone, my current lifestyle would be impossible. I am also finding my tablet extremely useful.

Also...if you still think an iPhone is a status symbol, welcome to 2007. Shit, my firm just threw out ~50 iPad 2s as obsolete...

Any specs yet on the differences between the 4s and the 5? I'm currently using a 3G and am going to upgrade, but there's no point in waiting until October if it isn't going to be overly beneficial.

I can purchase something on the internet, then monitor its delivery. I can see a map with a pin displaying every veggie eating place in a new town to strategy my lunchtime. I can check out my cellphone and move onto a household journey with nothing more. I can examine journey costs across several weeks and several air carriers. I can examine journey periods to see if I'll be late.

Maybe, you should consider the Samsung Galaxy. I got the iPhone 4S after having a blackberry too long and love it, but the Samsung has some really cool features.

Unless 5 has some great leaps I don't think it will be a good buy compared to the droids and samsung stuff.

If I were to buy again I would not buy the iPhone

    Here's a comparison between ipgone5 and Galaxy S3.

CNET says the iphone5 is the phone they've been waiting for.
