As unlikely as it may be, it is possible that pedophile was actually doing nothing wrong: we have to take the father's word for it that he caught him in the act. This is not justice. I can understand why he did it, and I MIGHT do the same in his shoes... that doesn't mean it is defensible.

Not necessarily true. I didn't read the article, but if the child shows signs of being molested (something they can determine at the hospital where she was taken) then that would prove that the man really was sexually abusing her. I would think that before the father got off with no punishment for killing the man they had to determine whether the girl actually had those signs of being molested.

The story mentions the abuser was known for his horse grooming abilities, so the down side to this is that the horses he tended to will now look untidy.

This is an increasing problem. There is a field near my house, and frankly the horses do not look presentable. Looking at them is akin to looking at some tramps hanging around on the street, and you can tell the horses don't feel good about themselves.

Perhaps it would have been more intelligent of the father if he had asked the abuser what his tips and secrets were for excellent horse grooming, then struck him until he expired.

On the other side of the argument, maybe it is best he is dead as it seems that horse grooming leads to people grooming. At what point do you think that horses lose their thrill and you start to seek out prepubescent girls? Surely their prepubescent nature means there is less to groom.
