Why Do Many Americans Use Deodorant

What is the problem that causes them to smell? Unclean diet? Impure thoughts? I do not use deodorant.

I actually just ordered LAUDER FOR MEN direct from the manufacturer! It is like a totally vintage cologne that I find smellicious. It doesn't block my odor, but it ENHANCES my smell!

Body odor comes from personal hygiene, genetics and diet. Lack of hygiene leads to a buildup of bacteria where perspiration doesn't evaporate easily and that produces odor. Some people have a genetic predisposition to producing relatively little perspiration, like some Asians, and others may produce copious perspiration, like sub-Saharan Africans. The odor that comes from diet, in the western world, is mostly from consumption of dairy products. In other parts of the world it's from pungent herbs and spices, like garlic.

I quit using dairy during the war and discovered that deodorant wasn't necessary for me. I haven't used any for almost 45 years. I use an anti-perpirspirant stick (alum silica) to reduce the amount of perspiration under my arms and that keeps me odor-free.

I don't use an antiperspirant; I only use a deodorant. Whatever is cheap from costco, they're all about the same.

My Arab friend uses Taliban extra dry with new improved goat scent because he's a stinking terrorist.

I don't perspire very much under the pits but I do for some reason sweat like crazy on my scalp and back of the neck. I used anti-perspirant/deodorant, any brand, I'm not fussy.

Yeah I run hot... I wake up sweating at nights often.

And Snouter, you need to use anti-perspirant/deodorant daily. Women don't like sweaty smelly men. Just friendly advice.

No they aren't. Antiperspirant helps stop the sweating; deodorant helps cover up the smell.

I meant all deodorants are all [about] the same and all AP are all [about] the same. I know the difference between the two. I don't use an AP because I don't want to clog my sweat glands. I use a deodorant because I don't want to stink (though I take two showers and one bath a day: when I get up, after I work out at lunch, and a bath before I get in bed).

I avoid toxic chemicals so there is no way I would ever use anti-perspirant. That also blocks a natural bodily function of cooling! Besides, I sweat evenly, not particularly in the armpits! As a result of not blocking naturally occurring bodily activity, females in heat catch wind of the action via the pheromones and they melt with any physical touch! It actually scares meh sometimes!

Went to lunch at Red Lobster Saturday. In comes this Latina chick with pits so hairy you could braid them. She had hair on her face, neck, shoulders, pitts, it was gross. Seriously if the couple didn't have a baby I would have thought it was a dude. I got one word for her, electrolysis.
