By 2-to-1 Americans are worse off under Obama

Americans are nearly twice as likely to say they've gotten financially worse off as better off since Obama became president, according to a new Washington Post/ABC News poll.
Only 16 percent of adult respondents say they are better off today then they were four years ago, while 30 percent say they are not as well off. Fifty-three say they are about the same. When ABC News/Washington Post asked the same question in June of 1992, 19 percent of Americans said they were better off under President George H.W. Bush compared to 32 percent who said they were worse off. Bush went on to lose to President Clinton that November.

We need people to suffer more so they'll have less to lose. Americans simply aren't suffering enough.

So you're saying the poll is completely wrong? What evidence do you have to back that up?

I can't believe that you're still paying Vader any attention. He deserves nothing because he posts nothing. And then Ganja proves he's just as worthless by thanking him.

I know you guys are extremely excited and hopeful that the economy will collapse so you can feel slightly less stupid about voting for Dubya, but the country doesn't share you hope of a failed economy under the President.

First of all, all of your unbridled excitement about people suffering isn't going to help you as much as you hope, since the majority of Americans know who's fault it is:

    Code:
"Who do you think is more responsible for the country's current economic
problems: Barack Obama or George W. Bush?" Options rotated

Obama Bush Both (vol.) Neither (vol.) Unsure
      	  	% % % % %

    5/17-20/12	34 49	8	7	3
Secondly, most of them have a good feeling about the recovery.

    Code:
"Thinking about your personal finances in the next few years, would you
describe yourself as more hopeful, or as more anxious?" Options rotated

      	  	Hopeful Anxious Both Neither	Unsure
      	  	% % % % %

    5/17-20/12	58 38	1	2	1
Lastly, you have to ignore a slice of the numbers. You see, dittoheaded, Fox-watching, rightwing nutters are so hopeful of a bad economy that they're making themselves ill. Those people wouldn't have voted for the Preisdent, anyway. In fact, they're largely inventing a new, bad reality so they ahve one to blame on him. Subtracting for Republican Hate, the averages go up a bit.

    Code:
      	  	Better Worse Same	Unsure
      	  	% % % %

    ALL 35 41	21	3
    Republicans	24 55	19	2
    Democrats	51 23	24	3
    Independents	32 46	20	2
It seems its' only Republicans who are having such a bad time, and it's probably mostly in their heads. I'm personally making 75% more than I was when Dubya left (as the US economy collapsed around him -- thanks for that, you fuckers).

P.S., before you bitch about the numbers, the first two sets are from your own poll.

The right wing disciples are totally disconnected from reality. Their fantasies are all they have. Even when they get exactly what they want, like in 2000, and have six years to fine tune their game, it fails America miserably and then they bitch about the cleanup crew that has to mop up their mess.

    What losers.

Your interpretation leaves much to be desired, such as truth. Those numbers make it clear that partisan democrats (really, is there any other kind) are the only ones thinking they're better off. Independents, whom TFO desperately needs in his mad clinging to power, don't think so.

Unfortunately that poll you just cited is skewed heavily towards Democrats therefore making it unreliable.

Today’s D/R/I is 32/22/38, which means this model would only be predictive for a turnout model where only 22% of voters are Republican.

Just to remind readers, the 2008 turnout split from exit polls showed a 39/32/29 split, and that was considered a nadir for Republican turnout. In the 2010 midterms, the split was 35/35/30.

55% of Republicans think they're worse off, because they stay focused on negative propaganda from Fox. Sane people average more around 33%. Either that, or Republicans just suck at life.

Tell F&L. He's the one who fell in love with it enough to start a thread.

I Pledge Resistance, to the Nazi Flag, of the United Police States of America, and to the Private Federal Reserves for which it stands. One Corporation, under Goldman Sachs, unaccountable, with poverty and slavery for all.

Worse here, btw. Went from working 50-56 hours a week to 30.

Now you're applying emotional, subjective and unsupportable meaning to the numbers. That is spin, and will be ignored. The bottom line remains, Obama has not impressed the voters he needs desperately, ie, the ones outside his base. On top of that, only half of his own party think they are better off now. That's not good news for the White House.
