Nah, let 'em stew over it. They should believe, every moment of every day for the rest of their miserable lives, that it ultimately took a foreigner, an alien, to show up and take over the leadership of our country to save it from the ravages of right wing incompetence. That should be the first thing that pops into their tiny heads in the morning and the last thing on their mind at night, gnawing away at their insides while they are sleeping and while they're awake. Day in and day out. Year after year after year. A foreigner was called to the rescue. That's how badly the Republican Party screwed up. That was how deep the mess was they had created. Even an American couldn't undo the harm they had caused. It had to be a foreigner who fixed it.![]()

I posted it because the topic came up and I happened to read the story yesterday and got a laugh out of it. As hadit said, it seemed opportunistic on Barry's part to be kenyan when kenyan was cool, now he's American when it's mandated. I guess that's just all part of his "evolution"
Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

So what are you suggesting? That they should have somehow realized the mistake after the the promotional booklet had ceased to be relevant, and... and what, made a new special edition to correct that little detail? Maybe mailed a new run of prints with the correction to everyone who ever read the original?
"Dear X, we know how important it is for your day to day affairs to know precisely where the author Barack Obama was born, so we've re-edited our booklet to update you on the most precise information."
What is it with you folks? I have to believe you are all more reasonable in your day to day lives because they way you behave on DA paints a very strange picture.

NO what he is suggesting is that Obama is a duplicitous piece of crap who changes his own biography whenever it becomes convenient for him to do so.
Annoy a leftist: Think logically.
It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.

No, I'm saying that they should have fixed the error right away instead of allowing the "misconception" to linger for years. You're not going to convince me that Obama didn't know about it, because it was about HIM after all. It all goes to Obama playing fast and loose with his life narrative, changing it when it suits him. Much like his position on gay marriage, or his allegience to Jeremiah Wright.
The ambassador died, Obama lied.

No Malcom we get irritated by leftist created nonsense that leftist then swear by regardless of actual facts.
We get pissed when leftist declare something extreme right when in fact the differences between them and those they have just called extreme right are limited to racial or ethnic animosities.
The tea party isn't extreme anything it is basically center right and the only unifing element among them is a belief, and in my opinion quite an accurate one, that the government is spending to much money.

Here is an excerpt from an article I just read that pretty much sums it up:
Regardless, he's a fake, a sham, a liar, and opportunistic POSWhen it comes to conspiracies, I’m an Occam’s Razor man. The more obvious explanation of the variable first line in the eternally shifting sands of Obama’s biography is that, rather than pretending to have been born in Hawaii, he’s spent much of his life pretending to have been born in Kenya. After all, if your first book is an exploration of racial identity and has the working title “Journeys in Black and White,” being born in Hawaii doesn’t really help. It’s entirely irrelevant to the twin pillars of contemporary black grievance — American slavery and European imperialism. To 99.99 percent of people, Hawaii is a luxury-vacation destination and nothing else. Whereas Kenya puts you at the heart of what, in an otherwise notably orderly decolonization process by the British, was a bitter and violent struggle against the white man’s rule. Cool! The composite chicks dig it, and the literary agents.

YOu left out callow and pretentious.

I repeat: how would you have them "fix the error". Once you've printed your run and distributed them, how are you going to fix something like that? Answer damn it, instead of vaguely accusing them of not fixing it.
What on earth do you mean by letting a misconception linger for years? How can you possibly imagine that anyone would have thought: "Oh shit, now people are going to believe this author was born in Kenya! We better DO SOMETHING or the world might end!"?
It was a promotional booklet for authors Hadit, not some official document that millions of people were going to see. When mistakes are made in promotional booklets, unless someone is going to get sued over them, there is no economic incentive to pursue factual errors. Jesus H Christ this whole conversation is retarded, but on you go, right?

Hadit, I will repost this for you because it doesn't seem to have registered on your radar, despite being in this thread, and having been reposted already for you.
M.Miriam Goderich edited the text of the bio; she is now a partner at the Dystel & Goderich agency, which lists Obama as one of its current clients.
"This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me--an agency assistant at the time," Goderich wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."

I bought a good lawnmower once that way. The regular price was $279, the intended sale price was $249, but the ad came out $179 because somebody wasn't paying close attention to detail. The store honored that price for those they had in stock, which sold like hotcakes.
