Nor considered important enough to demand a reprint.
And you think someone as narcissitic as Obama wouldn't know every detail of his own autobiography and the puff peice publicisng it precisely why? Typos you might miss but placing you in the entirely wrong country of Origin isn't likely to be missed by anyone.

Not only that, I'm not entirely sure what makes Garyd and Hadit imagine Obama was in a position to demand a reprint even if he had wanted to. Authors often get treated like dirt by publishers, especially when they are literary unknowns with an uncertain career ahead of them.

You two are grasping at any straw you can find. Pathetic.

Beats having no straws at all, like birthers.

Sorry I am not now nor have I ever been a birther. In fact I thought the whole argument was a waste of time and a distraction from far more important issues.
FAr more comfortable than straw in the barn that the jackasses shit on...

"So the lunatic theory that Barack Obama doesn’t meet the minimum eligibility requirements to be president of the United States was first advanced by Barack Obama’s official representative. Where did she get that wacky idea from? “This was nothing more than a fact-checking error by me,” says Obama’s literary agent Miriam Goderich, a “fact” that went so un-“checked” that it stayed up on her agency’s website in the official biography of her by-then-famous client up until 2007: “He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister.”
And then in April 2007, someone belatedly decided to “check” the 16-year-old “fact” and revised the biography, a few weeks into the now non-Kenyan’s campaign for the presidency. Fancy that!"
Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.
By then the factoid became significant enough to confirm. It couldn't be, since Obama was born in Hawaii, which has been confirmed, ad nauseum.

Thank you.
I'm not sure why this seems strange though.
It is precisely because Obama's profile was raised, that factual accuracy of the sort became important enough for someone to bother with it.
This might be difficult for you to imagine, but it is perfectly easy for me to imagine: Obama might not have cared enough where his readership thought he was born to bother asking for the information to be changed. Would you? I probably wouldn't. If someone claimed I was born in Paris instead of London somewhere on the web, I probably wouldn't bother to correct them.
This is only a big deal to you because you want to see something shadowy about it. Can you see that?

Malcolm, it's not about whether he had authority to demand anything. The fact that apparently he said nothing just adds to the overall impression that Obama, far from being transparent, prefers to hide things about himself and to change his narrative when it suits him. And no, this doesn't prove he was born in Kenya, or anything of the sort.
The ambassador died, Obama lied.
We have no evidence that he said nothing.
And even if he did, as I pointed out to Caddis - not pointing out somebody else's mistake is not the same thing as hiding something.
If some website said I was born in Paris and I didn't bother to correct them, would you accuse me of being far from transparent, preferring to hide things about myself, and changing my narrative because it suits me?
You see, you want to make this a deliberate obfuscation when there is as much likelihood he simply didn't consider it worth his time to try to get his agent to correct it.
I'm bored with this. Its not interesting. Who knew a error in a writer's promotional booklet would entertain people on the net for as long as it has?

Your analogy is invalid. This was not a random website that posted some random info about some random person, as your analogy attempted to portray. Obama had a financial relationship with the people who put it up. I think you would have a fairly strong interest to ensure that people who made money off you and who made money for you would be accurate. I would want to correct a site who said I was born on a different continent than the one I was.
The ambassador died, Obama lied.
I didn't really mean to make such a random analogy.
How about I make it as precise an analogy as can be?
If I had a literary agent, and she made such a mistake online, I would certainly note it as a reason to keep an eye on her accuracy, and I may or may not tell her about this particular, benign mistake. In the scheme of things, busy people often have bigger fish to fry, and save themselves for battles that matter.

It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.
