It's made over 600 million dollars worldwide,I'll probably see it i(and the Hunger Games) in a few weeks.
The next Dark Knight is what I'm looking forward to.
It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.
I've not seen it yet, but you're the only person out of office people, facebook friends, and other friends that hasn't liked it.
Haven't seen it yet but heard it was awesome.![]()

The same shepherd that protects the flock leads them to the slaughterhouse.
It was awesome. My only gripe is that the big baddies were way generic and unscary... other than that it was a grand experience. Iron Man was awesome. Hulk stole the show on several occasions, Thor was a ridiculously powerful and goofy secondary character (in other words, at his best), Captain America was all that any hero should aspire to, Loki was insane chaos, and even Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Fury had their moments.
Great cast, great one-liners, great action... and on top of it all, it's the first IMAX/3D movie I've ever seen where everything was integrated, actually improving the film, rather than distracting from it. It's also the first stupid "Summer Blockbuster" I've ever seen that actually lived up to the hype. It's a definite go-see flick -- in the theater at the very least, IMAX if possible.
Hunger Games is alright, but far too tame considering what it's about. Battle Royale was better.
That's the thing -Joss Whedon can only actually do one liners. The whole movie is a series of snarky comments cut short by boring action sequences. Ever seen Angel? It's exactly the same -you end up fast forwarding through the action because it's always the same shit (Firefly/Serenity were better, though).
The cast were alright, but nothing special -only Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo were specifically good. About 5 minutes in I stopped noticing the 3D, and I don't think it really added much tbh (it never does...). The whole way through I was either checking my watch or trying to list all the plot holes.
The thing is, I don't like superhero films. That might sound defeatist from the start, but the fact is I came to The Dark Knight and Star Trek with the same attitude and was blown away. What's the difference? Both of those films said 'fuck you' to the franchise and reinvented those movies with style, swagger and new ideas. But Avengers can't do that, because it's run by Marvel and directed by a fan who wants to re-live the comics. Roger Ebert said it best: Avengers is much, much more of the same.

That kind of implies it is dumb. Madonna makes millions also, for absolutely no reason except the stupidity and tasteless nature of the masses.
I only see some Hollywood garbage on cable TV in small doses when channel surfing, but that sums up much of the crap they produce very succinctly. The writing sucks, the action looks fake no matter how many computers they use, and it is an insult to intelligent viewers. There are a 3 retro channels on cable now and I was watching Batman from the 60's last night. Flucking brilliant and hilarious. Most of the dialog would go over the heads of today's viewers.
I'm going to see Dark Shadows ,not only did I love the TV show, but Tim Burton is one my favorite filmmakers.

I didn't know Dark Shadows was based on a TV show...

Marvel comics went through a reboot to make it stylish and swaggering already. For instance, Nick fury was a white guy before the reboot. There was a movie about him played by Hasselholf. Hawkeye's costume is more stylish and leathery than the old comics; Black Widow always wore leather though, Thor bless her.The thing is, I don't like superhero films.
