Teen Kills Mother Then Throws House Party

Miami, FL – The teenager who threw a party while his mother’s decomposing body was hidden in the bedroom told police he stabbed her repeatedly because he was angry with her for scolding him about staying out late.

According to Miami-Dade Police, officers found the body of Renette Emile, 35, in her apartment with 14 stab wounds to her body.

Her son Kit Darrant was arrested when he returned later with his three-year-old brother. They had both been living in the apartment with the corpse for more than a week.

On Tuesday night, four days after he allegedly murdered his mother, neighbours say he held a party and was playing loud music and laughing with friends.

The 16-year-old, a student at Dr Michael M. Krop Senior High School, confessed to investigators he killed his mother because he was angry at her for scolding him about staying out late on a week night.
