    Did Ann Romney Work?

The anser is :Yes, she did work ,I might add she worked as a stay at home mom while battling both cancer and multiple sclerosis ,and she derseves all of the credit in the world for it.

Having said that, she did that with the help of nurses ,and probably the help of servants and nannies, and she was never the breadwinner of her family.

She and her children lived very well off Mitt's checks from Bain Capital , Mitt got those checks from firing lots of breadwinners (both male and female) which Rick Perry (as far from a left-winger as you can get) called "vulture capitalism".

    Just sayin'.
It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.

When I was introduced to new fellows at a social function and we began to chat, they'd often ask, "Does your wife work?"

My answer was, "You bet. She's a homemaker."

Hilary Rosen was obviously referring to paying work when saying she didn't think Ann Romney was really in touch with the majority of women's economic concerns ... Ann Romney 'actually never worked a day in her life' ... outside the home, for a paycheck, because she had to financially .... Ann Romney is in touch with/can relate to other women who've stayed home to raise their children, and with sufferers/survivors of cancer and MS, but not with women who live paycheck to paycheck.

Correct,if Rosen had said "Ann Romney has never been a breadwinner" there would be nothing for Sean Haniity,Sarah Palin and their wretched ilk to demagogue.

And anyone with a IQ of 0.02 knows that's what Rosen actually meant.

Of course,it's possible that Hannity ,Palin and their crowd have a collective IQ of less than 0.02%.

For that matter, neither is Michelle Obama, or any other politician's wife, so it's really a moot point. The ONLY reason this is even a thread is because of the necessary backlash against the democrat War on Women that we are seeing play out.

If that was what Hilary Rosen was referring to, why did she apology for her remarks and why are most democrats distance themselves from her including both the president and his wife? I think the democratic party has just thrown Rosen under the bus to save face.

She apologized for her poor phrasing/lack of clarity - not for her intended meaning. Democrats were distancing themselves from the unintended negative message/"insult", pounced on by the right, that stay-at-home moms don't work/have value.

That is truly funny considering I have heard more democrats apologizing for her remarks than republicans pointing out her stupidity.

A little evidence that she employed private nurses, servants and nannies would be nice. And while you're at it, make sure they weren't employed AFTER she found out she has MS. That would be hitting below the belt.

Let's see. Their first child was born in 1970 and their last in 1981. Bain Capital wasn't founded until 1983 and didn't really hit the big time until after 1986, when they began reaping benefits from helping start Staples, a place where my son now works. You really come across as simply desperate to paint a decent family as rich, spoiled debutantes when even a casual look into the facts does not support that hypothesis. I don't care what ANYONE says, home schooling 5 kids is WORK.

The only reason they're falling all over themselves trying to explain away her remarks is it's screamingly obvious how damaging they were.

Michelle has worked most of the time since graduating law school in 1988, but since marrying in '92 it hasn't been for the sole purpose of putting food on the table.

I am well aware of that fact. I do not see her being in touch with those women working paycheck to paycheck, which apparently is the new democrat standard for womanhood, unless of course you are a democrat politician's wife, in which case you're exempt from all qualifications.

Hilary Rosen is a pundit on CNN,she is nowhere near a spokeperson for the Democrats, while Fox News is nothing but parrots of the GOP.

Once again, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

What she actually meant is obvious to anyone who has common sense, but GOPigs will demagogue anything to get a Republican elected.

    That's because liberals are honest.

Of course, you and your ilk don't know jack shit about honesty.

    Who has "apologized" for her?

    Word for word quotes please.

I didn't say it would be wrong for her to do so,I'm just pointing out she doesn't know shit about what working-class people go through.

And while you're at it, make sure they weren't employed AFTER she found out she has MS. That would be hitting below the belt.
I'm assuming they would be after her illnesses'(options that working-class people don't have),again, there's nothing wrong with it,you're making a mountain out of a molehill.

But your side has no substance to run on,so you have to resort to this trivia.

Let's see. Their first child was born in 1970 and their last in 1981. Bain Capital wasn't founded until 1983 and didn't really hit the big time until after 1986, when they began reaping benefits from helping start Staples, a place where my son now works.
It doesn't change my point that the family income came from Mitt firing male and female breadwinners,"downsizing" is the more polite term you people use,"you're fired" is the term I use.

I think both Mitt and Ann Romney are decent people(something that lily,Powerboss and their ilk won't say about liberal/Democrat).

But,IMO the Romneys are wrong politically ,they are wrong in the policies they advocate ,and neither of them have any firsthand experience about anything that anyone outside of their cocoon of church and class go through

You really come across as simply desperate to paint a decent family as rich, spoiled debutantes
I never said or insinuated anything like that, you've lost your motherfucking marbles.

If I wanted to play that game ,I would have brought up Mitt building elevators for his cars,I didn't ,I'm only mentioning it now to show how full of shit your remarks to me are.

I don't care what ANYONE says, home schooling 5 kids is WORK.
Yes,it is work, and I said in my first sentence that it is work.

It's work ,but it doesn't make one a breadwinner, nor does it give one any understanding what the working-class(not to mention the working poor) go through.

Snouter, when your Jewish girlfriend dumped you for for a black man and told you it was because he had a big dick, she was bullshitting.

She didn't go to the black man because of the size of his penis, she went to the black man in question ,because he was not an asshole.

Well, to be fair with her, she wasn't COMPLETELY bullshitting either

She didn't go to the black man because of the size of his penis, she went to the black man in question ,because he was not an asshole.
I'd say that the MAIN reason she went for the brother was because he wasn't an asshole, and it would be fair to assume there were some other issues that didn't help Snouter's case either, such as singing/dancing abilities, intelligence, physical shape, and yes, dick size.

You still in your parents basement?
Unless they let him have his own room.

Ah another non-issue. I'll save you guys some time on this one... it's typical female cattiness. If a woman stays at home to raise kids, working women pass judgement. If a woman works, SAHMs question what kind of mothers they are. If a woman doesn't breast feed, she's a horrible mom. God forbid, a woman chooses not to have children. Bottom line is Ann Romney doesn't need to work... Mitt is filthy rich. They aren't like the rest of us.
