Hilary Rosen is a pundit on CNN,she is nowhere near a spokeperson for the Democrats, while Fox News is nothing but parrots of the GOP.
Unless she's going to make similar comments about rich democrats, she is a DNC parrot.
What she actually meant is obvious to anyone who has common sense, but GOPigs will demagogue anything to get a Republican elected.
Mind reading again.
That's because liberals are honest.
No they're not.
I didn't say it would be wrong for her to do so,I'm just pointing out she doesn't know shit about what working-class people go through.
None of the candidate's wives do. The fact that you think her experience is significant is partisan crap.
I'm assuming they would be after her illnesses'(options that working-class people don't have),again, there's nothing wrong with it,you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
Then you're being blind and stupid. She wasn't diagnosed until her children were largely grown. You're just being petty.
It doesn't change my point that the family income came from Mitt firing male and female breadwinners,"downsizing" is the more polite term you people use,"you're fired" is the term I use.
Of course, the alternative is for the company to go out of business, thus putting EVERYONE out of work, but maybe you'd prefer that outcome.
I think both Mitt and Ann Romney are decent people(something that lily,Powerboss and their ilk won't say about liberal/Democrat).
Good, then you'll stop trying to make them out to be spoiled debutantes.
I never said or insinuated anything like that, you've lost your motherfucking marbles.
Awwww, you're trying to be insulting. I've heard worse from better.
It's work ,but it doesn't make one a breadwinner, nor does it give one any understanding what the working-class(not to mention the working poor) go through.
And since Michelle Obama doesn't either, it's a moot point. I don't recall you being this ridiculous about wealth when Lurch was running.
I am well aware of that fact. I do not see her [Michelle Obama] being in touch with those women working paycheck to paycheck, which apparently is the new democrat standard for womanhood, unless of course you are a democrat politician's wife, in which case you're exempt from all qualifications.

First of all, not exactly true ... wives like Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, and their husbands, have a completely different, middle class background - the Clintons and Obamas have self-made wealth/success - they were not born into it, and did not enjoy it their entire lives. And both of those women worked for a paycheck because they had to, at least initially.
Ann Romney was born into an extremely wealthy family and married a man from an extremely wealthy family, and never had to work a day in her life outside her home to help make ends meet.

No one is "being ridiculous about wealth"!
And, John Kerry was a lot more than his wealth and privilege. (also, rich democrat vs. rich republican ... hmmm, rich democrat, any day.)

Wrong. It's obvious "how damaging" the repubs are trying to make them - dems are trying to ward off the republican "gotcha" onslaught.

Reading between the lines is not mind reading. Are you too stupid to do it and reading between the lines seems like hocus-pocus to you? Or maybe (more likely) the obvious is ignored in favor of political advantage. Much better to feign outrage and hurt, garner sympathy/votes and further divide, even women from women.

(A small sampling of what she gets away with: "terrorist", "un-American", "not a...man of valor", "philosophy of radicalism", "bringing us back to days ... before the Civil War ... when we were in different classes based on income, based on color of skin" lol ... )
But if you want to compare apples to apples, let's go over w/ a fine-toothed comb the words/opinions expressed by the pundits/strategists on the right about, not just candidate's wives, but our president, on a daily basis.
Such media bias, huh?
And, for anyone who wants to review what was, and wasn't said:
"In case you missed it, Rosen started out ... by saying we should 'get rid of this word War On Women,' and said she agreed with Mitt Romney that 'ultimately women care more about the economic well-being of their families and the like.'
"Rosen went on to explain that Mitt Romney 'doesn’t connect on that issue either. What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, well, you know, my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues, and when I listen to my wife, that’s what I’m hearing. Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life. She’s never really dealt with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing in terms of how do we feed our kids, how do we send them to school and how do we — why do we worry about their future.'"
quoted from Not Just Stupid: Outrage Over Hilary Rosen’s Ann Romney Comments Is Offensive by Tommy Christopher, April 14th, 2012
Hilary Rosen's opinion that Mitt Romney is utilizing his wife to help gain him some of the women's vote in an area she really can't be an expert is as valid as the next person's opinion.
My opinion is that Ann Romney is stumping for the wrong party, a party that is actively trying to roll back/defund the laws/programs most crucial to women. But then again, if they succeed, the Republican women who are pro-choice, or change their minds on the issue if faced w/ a crisis, can go to Canada for their abortions, if they're old enough, and if they can afford it. If not, god help them and the rest of us.

Irrelevent. Lincoln never owned slaves. That didn't stop him from taking actions regarding slaves. Obama is not a doctor. That didn't stop him from creating Oh-crap! care.
No one is "being ridiculous about wealth"!
The premise of this entire thread is the wealth of a candidate's wife. That's ridiculous.
And, John Kerry was a lot more than his wealth and privilege. (also, rich democrat vs. rich republican ... hmmm, rich democrat, any day.)
Oh, that's right. He went to Viet Nam. I do remember him mentioning that once. Nice that you knew I was talking about Kerry when I called him Lurch. You made the connection right away, too, didn't you?
"The democrat 'War on Women'"
Yup. That's what I'm talking about. The democrats champion only one choice, and choosing to be a homemaker and raise children is not it.
Wrong. It's obvious "how damaging" the repubs are trying to make them - dems are trying to ward off the republican "gotcha" onslaught.
IOW, damaging. There would be no onslaught without the initial attack. It can't be taken back, only explained, spun and ultimately ignored.

You mean, take a person at their word, the words that they ACTUALLY said, NOT what the spin doctors would have you believe they said.
Now, how would you possibly know that? Oooohh ... because you are a mind reader.
Nope, just taking her at her word, the words she actually said.
Whether Hilary Rosen has been to the White House a THOUSAND times or not is irrelevant. She is a strategist/pundit.
Right. A highly paid mouthpiece. How much does she know about working paycheck to paycheck, struggling to raise children and balance their needs against the need to keep working? Oops, nothing. She's gay and never had children. I guess that makes her comments invalid.

So you condemn Palin for commenting on the actual POLITICIANS who make legislation and hold power over our lives MORE than you condemn an attack on the WIFE of a candidate? Somehow, I'm not surprised.
But if you want to compare apples to apples, let's go over w/ a fine-toothed comb the words/opinions expressed by the pundits/strategists on the right about, not just candidate's wives, but our president, on a daily basis.
Sure, go right ahead. We'll wait.

Good. We won't be hearing any more about the faux Republican war on women then.

This thread is about Rosen's observation that the people at the top, the wealthy, the crème de la crème, are out of touch with what Americans are going through on Main St. Like Bush XLI's amazement over a grocery store scanner, it shows how little they know about the society they would direct.
We won't be hearing any more about the faux Republican war on women then.
The Republican war on women's constitutional rights is quite enough.

Since Rosen is herself a wealthy woman who never had kids, she also is out of touch with what Americans are going through on Main St. President Obama is one of the people at the top, the wealthy, the crème de la crème, and is out of touch with what Americans are going through on Main St. Given that, and the fact that Rosen reserves her comment SOLELY for the wife (not even the candidate) of the Republican candidate, it is obvious that there is no value to her comment whatsoever, beyond illustrating the true contempt with which democrats view women who choose to stay home and raise their children. It was nothing more than partisan posturing, and for CNN to pretend she's not a democrat mouthpiece is disengenuous, to say the least.
The Republican war on women's constitutional rights is quite enough.
It doesn't exist. Refusing to pay for somebody else's condoms is not a war on their constitutional rights, any more than it's censorship to refuse to pay an artist to produce crap.
Why are leftards so consumed about whether or not Ann Romney worked?
Because they are running this year on class envy and class warfare. They think if they can paint a cancer fighter with MS as a rich, spoiled debutante, it will increase their chances in the fall. What they forget is that none of their candidates are any closer to the comman man than is Ann.
What brain defect do you leftist idiots have that you worry so much about what other people's choices in life are?
Maybe it's a tumor. They'll tolerate transsexuals marrying goats, but they can't handle a wealthy, stay at home mom. This is what's known as desperation. They see Obama's reign of terror coming to an end.

Because they are frankly embarrassed about the way Obama has handled the economy, jobs, deficit spending and so on. They are trying to deflect with these side issues set up by their talking heads.

Is that anything like Obama going into a fast food restaurant, ordering a hamburger and asking if they have Grey Poupon mustard?

That's exactly why the constitution doesn't grant government the power to direct society. Someday maybe you'll grow up and become an actual citizen.

I'm pretty sure it allows for election of a president, and as Chief Executive, that's one of his many functions. He's the policy maker, he sets the agenda, he signs bills into law and enforces them.
You'll learn about this sort of thing when you take Civics. Don't be impatient, you have your whole life ahead of you to learn How Things Work.

And if you're an independent caeer women under 50, the GOPigs will call you a "slut" and a "prostitute".
How much does she know about working paycheck to paycheck
I don't know what her upbringing was like.
I know she graduated college and worked professional jobs, that's not a sin,
She's gay
Why should anyone care?
and never had children
That's not a sin.

That is fucking cruel to force someone to choose between their medical needs and their job, especialy since the president came up with a more than reasonable compromise for the insurance companies to pay for it.

It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.
Are you trying to say your parents paid for that surgery, after your ex-girlfriend dumped you for a brother?
