Like I said earlier, it's an observation. I have no obsession. I have worked for large corporations for 30 years and have had at least 80 hours of diversity education over the years. It's amazing what a room full of people of all stripes can learn from each other. Racism is very common among all races regardless of gender or age. You just took it a little too far. You discounted any fault found with Martin and easily accepted Zimmermans faults without knowing for sure if any of them were true.

I'm actually sympathetic to the concept behind SYG laws. If someone tries to car jack you, you shouldn't be required to flee your car. I think you should have the right to use deadly force if the only other options are to flee or have deadly force used against you. But, if you're going to write a law that says "shoot first, ask questions later", you should be really, really careful about how to write it. I think it's a case of a badly written law that shouldn't have been passed.

If I'm not mistaken, you can walk up to someone in Florida, punch him in the head, then back off and say "oh, hey man sorry about that," then if he comes after you to punch back, it's completely legal to blast him with a shotgun. That's kind of fucked. (That's based on my own reading of the law, but it seems pretty clear -- either way, it clearly has some problems.)

That's exactly what it means.

You have a beef with your boss? Confront him in the parking lot after work. If he reaches into his pocket for his cell phone to call security, blow him away.

lol @ diversity training. Did you take good notes? Everyone knows those courses do nothing to deal with racism or discrimination if it's there. The education is provided strictly to protect the company in case of a lawsuit.

No - I actually volunteered Martin's faults - far from discounting them. I just found Zimmerman's character flaws seemed to outweigh Martin's, according to the knowledge available. At the time, you had nothing to say. Now weeks later, you relieve your bowels of the nasty conclusion you were inventing all along - that I was somehow displaying racism.

You have a reading comprehension problem, repeatedly proven because when asked to back up your claims, you don't seem to be able to find the posts you misunderstood.

I've seen trained professionals, who happened to be black, try to show black participants that they had racist tendencies. Everyone of them denied it, just like you're doing now. Perhaps if you went back and read through some of your posts from a couple of weeks ago, the light will come on.
