How to PM for newbies?

I have a friend that's new here, and she can't PM. It just doesn't work for her. (she's very familiar with vBulletin software, so I doubt it's user error.)

Is something broke, or whatever?

you have to have at least 10 posts before you can use the PM system, but I updated it for you while I was in the ACP
