Give some trusted users the power to ban spammers, and edit their messages. It doesn't do a lot of good to ban a spammer after he gets his message out...unless you also manage to kill his spam at the same time.

I was getting bots that managed to get by ReCaptcha on my site, so I switched to KeyCaptcha. Awesome service, I highly recommend it.
