    Your Tax Dollars At Work

The chutzpah of the government is disgusting. First of all, grass lawns are one of the dumbest concepts. Hey, lets poison the water supply with Scotts Turf Builder for grass that can't even survive the summer sun without daily watering which wastes the polluted water! On the bright side, Chinese folks are consistently picking up residences. I bet if they were landlords, they would not jack up the rents when real estate prices collapse like they have!

Unattended real estate quickly turns to blight and that affects surrounding property values and the tax base they represent. The cost can either be concentrated there where it will affect fewer people more adversely, or it can be spread among many affecting more people imperceptibly. Whichever way it's handled, someone will gripe about it.

If someone lives next door to an 'unattended real estate' doesn't want their property valves to go down, get off your fat ass and mow it yourself without tax payers paying for it. Either that or spray it with herbicide.

And laws preventing that sort of action be damned, eh?

    Mowing the banks lawns? Evidence?

If someone wants to come over and mow my lawn I would give them a beer or sumpun.

If Roundup was illegal why do they sell it at just about any hardware store?

Malicious trespass is in the eye of the property owner. Save your excuses for the judge.

Malicious? Mowing a lawn is malicious? I would be inclined to think the bank would think me for keeping the property values up for resale.

Cutting down another's foliage can be seen as malicious, not to mention killing it with herbicide.

I guess intent trumps Rule of Law for some folks.

    Mowing the banks lawns?
This. The banks should be fined like any other personhood. But noooo, like the bank bailouts, we get stuck with the bill. They created the mess.

Not all banks are created equal. Commercial banks have been, and remain, well-regulated and got stuck with foreclosed properties as borrowers lost their jobs. They're not the bad guys in this game. Shadow banking, completely unregulated and which had grown to 80% of the banking industry before its excesses brought the house of cards down, is where you'll find the perps who should be held accountable.

And some of them are being brought to justice. Check out US Attorney Preet Bharara's record of convictions.

Brilliant display of the typical progressive disregard for personal responsibility in favor of shared sacrifice. With logic like that, its no wonder that progressives don't mind forcing college students with little need for health insurance to help foot the bill for others that do. Their participation is necessary.....

The surrounding property owners have no personal responsibility for the misfortunes of their neighbors, yet they're affected by the blight. How is their losing a substantial amount of home equity superior in your eyes to a larger group of people who are also not responsible for the blight losing a few pennies each?

As far as I can understand reading the article, these are not bank-owned properties. They're Freddie and Fannie-owned...which means they're government owned. The government should be paying to cut the grass. They should not be spending money to repair the properties, tho. They should be sold off as-is at rock-bottom prices.

I am agrees with you that the location and surrounding are affect the property value very much. So it is necessary that you take in consider such kind of topic before investing in it so as to gain more profit and return.
