I have to say for a man I grew to dislike, I respect for him for doing this. I suspect his daughter's health issues and recent hospitalization influenced his decision. It would be a shame to spend all your time on a losing campaign instead of with your child who won't live long.

Don't fall for it. The daughter is a convenient excuse. He dropped out because he was going to lose his home state. When your own state prefers a tepid Mormon who believes G_d-knows-what on any given day, it is a pretty damning condemnation.
